meet in/near Vancouver BC weekend of June 11, 2011?

    I'm debating going for the Saturday portion of Star Trek Convention Vancouver, BC - Creation Entertainment to see TOS Sulu and Uhura on stage. I'm still trying to figure out how long I plan to stay and which days I plan to be up there (to see stuff besides the convention).

    I'm not sure there are many BCers here on PC other than Tideland. Anyone from the Pacific Northwest going up to that convention?

    Maybe we can have a mini meet? I'll probably be busy at least one evening as I was planning to drop by the Summer Night Market - night market bc at least once.

    This will probably be my last venture up there as I plan to move back to California in mid-July.

    Darn, I won't be in Western Washington until June 21. Seattle area, then Bellingham, then coastal WA west of Olympia, after the 29th.

    Doesn't look sold out. Generation admission single day tickets are still available for all the days. I just noticed this at the top:
    If the convention had William Shatner, Patrick Stewart or Leonard Nimoy, their days would be sold out.

    Nobody? I'll be driving up to Vancouver on Friday but I'm unsure of the time of day.

    I've only booked one night at a hotel but might extend it to two.

    Yeah, strange there isn't more response. Certainly no shortage of Priuses around here. Enjoy the show. :)

    Maybe I should start a Seattle area mini-meet thread for when you're in the area?

    It seems pretty darn hard to get anyone interested in Prius mini-meet up here, for some reason. :confused: I could hardly get anyone to even meet at one of the Prius v showings. There's definitely no shortages of Priuses in the area.

    The So Cal group doesn't seem to have that problem.

    Somewhat embarrasingly, I will have no motor vehicle at all in the Seattle Area, (Black Diamond) so a mini-meet will need to be near a bus line.

    In Bellingham, and later down in Shelton I will have my old Subaru.

    However I would cheerfully be an excuse for meeting, if Western Washington needs an excuse.

    Wow, Black Diamond is out in the boonies (to me). Never been there (nor the other 2 two places). Google Maps says it's 33.3 miles or 52 minutes from where I live. That's the closest of all the places you've listed... :/

    Haha about the excuse. :)

    I do not know... I tried getting a meeting going in '09 and I got 3 other members out. The last one was in 2005 at Diablo Dam and I think we had 4 members (including me).

    I'll be up for a seattle-area meeting in early July

    Wow. I got home less than an hour ago.

    As for early July, my apartment lease runs out on July 19th. I probably will be moved a few days before that. I'll likely be SUPER busy cleaning up stuff and packing before the movers show up (self-packing most of it to cut costs). So, an early July Seattle area meet might not work for me. :(

    I picked a mover last night and submitted the paperwork. They will be showing up to move me July 14th or 15th. I will definitely be frantically busy packing before then. I'd rather not pay them a bunch of extra money to pack most of my items.

    After that, I'll be cleaning my apartment then driving back to the Bay Area.

    I will be near Seattle June 10 to 14 2012, then Bellingham June 15th 2012, if that helps plan a date. But yes, we need a new thread with this years date.

    Yeah. The power of the Z and my former 02 Maxima (which actually felt more powerful due to accelerator pedal calibration and less NVH, but was definitely slower in the 1/4 mile) is something I miss.

    I don't miss it getting 1/2 the mileage (or worse) of my Prius and paying for premium.

    I plan on leasing a Leaf (or possibly buying a used one, if the price is right) as a 2nd car, but I don't have it yet. Long story...
