Just had my rockford punch 800.2 and two kicker cvt 8" sub boxes installed. I got the idea from kmkremer who posted something similar. I was worried that one sub box would not be sufficent. So when I measured my cargo area I was very happy that two would fit perfectly side by side plus my amp. Also had a capacitor installed because of the small battery that the car has. These subs hit pretty hard for 8's. I'm very pleased with the sound. Almost sound like two tens. I had so much vibration from the cargo lid that I bought some 1/2 inch black door seal and placed it around the cargo tray. This solved the problem. No vibrations. My amp signal was taken from the rear six inch speaker. At first the installer hooked up to the rear tweeter but the signal was not strong enough to amplify. I spent $265 with install minus the amp I had. :rockon:I hope my picture works, check it out.

Well that about fills up the tray. lol

Looks good though. Does it really rock or is it just good fill-in?

No, it rocks. Punches me in the back. I had two JL 10w3 in my TL and these hit about 50-60 percent of those. Very satisfied.

Cool ! I just asked myself if I would have enough power to fully drive both subs. I'm using an Ampire digital 4-channel amp (4x 100W RMS) set to 3-channels (rear speakers 2x100W@4Ohm plus sub 1x200W@4Ohms) and wire the Kickers in parallel (1x400W@2Ohms then). You have installed a fan for the Punch but is it really necessary ?

That is a great stealth install!

I am also impressed with the Kicker 8" box for its size.

I'm not sure. I guess I should have tried it without for a couple of days. I had this amp in a trunk bridged pushing two jl 10w3 and after 20 minutes of full power the amp would shut down. So I've always had the fan on the amp. Also this amp is ten years old so I hope this helps preserve it.

You're likely running too low of an ohm load. The Rockfords that were rated for 2ohm did note like to be bridged at 2ohm because it is like running 1ohm and they would overheat. So unless an amp is rated at 2 ohm bridged, assume the 2ohm rating is stereo and only bridge it if you are running a 4 or 8 ohm load.
