How about 60 LED DRL and Turn Signal in one bulb!

If I were more experienced at this sort of thing, I would not hesitate to install this mod. It looks awesome...

 

Yeah, this is one of those mods that seem really easy until you actually start doing it. Glad KK6PD did all the research for us.

 

Just dawned on me......The white flash and all the other problems may only happen on the Amber-Off version. Perhaps whatever circuit they use to keep the DRL off during turns signal flashing causes all the problems. For instance. My switchbacks don't flash reliable during lock/ unlock. the rear signals which are still incandescent flash normally, so it's not the flasher. Clearly the Amber Off circuit needs work. From what I've heard about their customer service there's no point in even trying to get this resolved It's not really that bad. All the problems seem to happen when the turns are lit without energizing the DRLS, so worst case I can tie the DRLS to the turn signals through a diode.

 

Finished the install. It's pretty cool. I discovered that the fusebox actually has an opening in it in a very convenient location and there is no need to drill a hole. I didn't add the headlight relay so for now the DRLs will stay on day and night. Thanks again for all the help.

It's not the flasher. The switchback circuit design still needs work. I have to use Amber-Off because the switchback is installed in the tail light. Tying the white LED with Amber LED with a diode will not work. I've tried it already. It still flashes with white before the amber. In order for the amber to flash without the white, the white LED must be powered up before the amber starts to flash. The only way to get the amber flash by itself is to power up the white LED in the duration of the flash. I have built a circuit using relays, caps and diodes to do this. Autoilluminations will not take responsibility for their cheap design and will blame on the user on every complaint. Since they can't design the amber flash without the white, I had to do what I can with what I have.

 

It's not very clear from the picture where exactly the opening is. Did you mean the port where the bundle of cables enters the glove box?

 

Assume you meant Fuse box, not glove box.

It's on the neck opening that the big bundle enters, but it's a separate opening on the top of the neck, right below the left snap that holds the cover on. You can easily fish a wire through that opening and into the middle of the fuse box.

 

Would someone kindly provide more details on how I remove the dash to get to the flasher module location?

Have you had any issues with the LED flasher unit not working? Mine has quit working twice since I got it and a simple unplug and plug back in fixed the issue.

I reinstalled the stock flasher so I would not have to put up with the LED flasher not working. I don't want to get pulled over for not using a turn signal. Plus I think the faster flashing might grab peoples attention better.

 

Never had that problem since I installed the flasher.

 

The flasher hasn't quit, but it does have problems with the lock/unlock flashing. Sometimes it works, most times it either doesn't flash at all or has a super short flash.

 

The lock, unlock flash works fine too. Never had a problem with mine. I do have to note that my flasher is flashing incandescent bulbs for the front, LEDs for the mirror and relays for the rear.

 

Yeah, but I'm not the only one with this problem. I suspect if I bought another one I'd have 2 flashers with the same problem.

 

My LED relay when it works would only flash every once in a while when locking the car. When it did flash it was very short. Almost not enough time for the LEDs to get full power.
