I've never been to the show - but my guess is parking will be tough, let alone charging. Best to park elsewhere where you can charge and hitch a ride. Probably a good question on the facebook group ...

That location works for me. I've never been there before.

Have you been there recently? It seems a lot of recent reviews are negative (1 star) at Victor's Celtic Coffee Co - Redmond, WA, 98052 - Citysearch (assuming this is right place). Most of the positive reviews are from years ago. But as w/all reviews, they all should be taken w/a grain of salt.

Take a look at http://seattle.citysearch.com/profi...or_s_celtic_coffee_co.html#profileTab-reviews and click thru different star ratings.

    Also, supposedly, there's no wi-fi there. :/

My schedule is quite flexible as I have no "household planner". My current thinking is I might make it to the Greenwood car show and meet whoever I can in the EV area and we should have our meet on Sunday, the 26th. If Tideland comes down, I hope we can make it worth his while or that he has something else planned in the area.

I live on the other side, so Alderwood or the Greenwood car show are more convenient for me. But like Dave, the household planner usually has other plans, especially when the weather is good.
No admission to view when my cycling party went through part of it last year, though you must pay to show. It covered very many blocks of Greenwood Ave, this page says it will be 25 blocks long. See also here and here. I seem to remember half a block (single side) of electrics.

Oh yes - no wi-fi. But they have good coffee.

How about this - just down the road. Haven't been to there before.

    SoulFood Books - Redmond, WA

or "urban COFFEE Lounge" in Kirkland. It is quite nice.

    Both locations are ok w/me.

I've been to SoulFood Books before. There is free wi-fi and plenty of parking. It's a bit eclectic (click on on the Calendar link from Welcome to SoulFood). When I was there, they had stone readings and yurts (http://www.groovyyurts.com/en/ had their trailer setup and was building a yurt outside).

Is parking ok at urban COFFEE Lounge on a Sunday? It look like it could be a mixed bag judging by the reviews and satellite views. I'm not familiar w/the Juanita area.

Back to the Greenwood car show, it sounds like you (evnow) will be there all day. For those who are going to view and know when you'll be going, may as well list your times here so we can meet there. I might go but am unsure when.

edit: I called urban COFFEE Lounge and asked them about parking on weekends. They said that on weekends, "it's kind of crazy". They mentioned some street parking that's first come, first serve/come and go and a few spots in the Avalon apartments, if you can find one.

So, my vote is more for SoulFood Books or one of the Starbucks I mentioned (unless some folks just despise Starbucks).

Well something came up for tomorrow so I'm out for all 3 days =(.

Cwerdna, some Portland PCers would come up if there was one in Seattle (midway point between BC and OR)

    Doh!

Are those Portland PCers active? I wonder if they've seen this thread. Bellevue/Redmond is also basically a midpoint between BC and OR but if for some reason, they want it in Seattle, we can do that.

It's just best to avoid it Seattle on Saturday in certain parts from 6 am to 3 pm due the marathon I mentioned in post 8 and the closed areas of Greenwood for the auto show, unless you want to be stuck and have no place to park. Also, parking is crappy and expensive in downtown Seattle but decent in a # of other parts.

Well I'm sure Bellevue is fine. It's about the same distance, just a bit to the east, no? I was just using Seattle as a point of reference.

Yep. While coming up I-5, one would just split off to 405 north instead of continuing on I-5.

Hope you or someone can attract the Portland PCers to come up otherwise it's going to be a really small meet.

There will be 30 EVs from Seattle EV Association - including 3 Leafs, couple of Roadsters etc. We will be there from when the show opens, 9 AM, until 4 PM (may be a few will leave an hour or so early).

    Cool. I might be there.

Too bad a bunch of people here can't make it. If only Dave was free on Sunday, I could head out to Olympia to check out his Leaf and then maybe Rae could join us. I could pick up Jimbo if he were somewhere sort of on the way...

Jimbo: Will you have a car on the 26th? Is there a place you'd prefer to have a meet? It really is a shame that it looks like it'll be a very small meet.

Maybe you should try to make it to Join us at the Toyota Drive Center! - Alderwood , Lynnwood, Washington whenever you can so that you can see and drive 3 Toyota hybrids. :) There's never been any sales pressure.

Hopefully evnow can bring his Leaf. I'd at least like to ride along on the highway and hear the noisemaker. I've only seen the videos of the noisemaker. Maybe a friend of mine who's into the Volt might show up.

C'mon Puget Sound area Prius drivers, speak up! Spread the word and come to our mini meet!

Cwerdna I am in Satsop WA tonight, I will be available sunday, and will be driving my brother's Dodge Pickup, which is free if I put gas in it. I will be coming from Black Diamond, so near the 405 is best for me. But pick a spot and Google maps will get me there.

Haha. You've been going to all these towns that I'd never even heard of.

I think the easiest for you would be:
It looks like Google Maps is messed up. Proper map appears to be at Store Details | Starbucks Coffee Company.

This one is easy but you need to go on 520 for a bit.
2020 148th Avenue Northeast, Redmond, WA - in a strip mall next to a Sprint Store and Quiznos, across the street from Taco Bell

Or, if evnow really wants to try SoulFood Books, that'll work too, but it means going further down 520 and a tiny bit more driving.

You really should head to Alderwood, if you can. :) I've already driven had test drives of all 3 of those and had a HyCam loaner for about a day before.

My relatives all live in remote corners, like me.

Let's decide on SoulFood Books. We need a location, so folks can decide to come!

15748 Redmond Way, Redmond, WA 98052

cant hear the noise maker above residential street speeds. it is simply not that loud and UNLIKE the Prius, the speaker is OUTSIDE the car where it belongs (that includes the backup beeper)

if on a street that is quiet (no other cars around) with windows down you can hear it with its frequency oscillating with the speed of the car.

maybe i old, but i can hear it best while pulling into enclosed spaces like my old alleyway or into the garage.

One of my friends wrote to me a few weeks ago about the Leaf being loud w/the subject "Holy crap the Leaf is loud" when one came into a Best Buy parking lot. He even used the word "Goddamn" in his mail. :)

Hope I get to hear it tomorrow.

I saw a Leaf today on the road in Bellevue and rolled down my windows. It started moving and I think I faintly heard it. There were lots of other cars around.

So, what's the scoop on the Sunday meet? Will evnow or any other Leaf owner be able to make it? Anyone else? We ok w/SoulFood Books? I'd prefer afternoons, 1 pm or later but if I have to bite the bullet for a morning meet so more folks can make it, I'll do it.

If it's just me and JimboPalmer, I'd rather do the Starbucks at:
2020 148th Avenue Northeast, Redmond, WA - in a strip mall next to a Sprint Store and Quiznos, across the street from Taco Bell
