Can the top DRL housing fit a 9 way led? or just 5 way?

Guys, I am using 5 way led for the DRL that is right above the headlight, but want to switch to 9 way, does that fit in there?

    Thanks!

I understand now... Be careful which unit you buy. I bought a version that stood really high and it actually started to melt/discolor the headlight housing on the inside! So I went to a smaller (less LEDs) bulb. I will try to find the links to the units and post.

These are the units I am using now.

    These units caused problems.

I've fitted this 9-way LED (actually 8 radially mounted with 2 forward aiming instead of 1, for a total of 10) in there, although it's a tight fit with the top just a few cm from the glass. Obviously, the overall length would differ between different 9-way LEDs so it'd depend on the brand.

I've herd of the 9LED ones burning the housing. I'd stay on the safe side and stick with the 5LED version. It's plenty brighter than the stock.
EDIT: Quick question - do the 9 LED versions fit in the dome/map lights?

32kcolor, does the 8led that you use buring the housing?

lulzchicken, yes the 9 led fit in map light, but not dome light (it use a different type)

They do fit in the front dome lights just fine and I've used them in there with no issues.

I'm no longer using the aforementioned 10-way LEDs in the front side markers as the 5500K color temperature is way too blue for the LED headlights. I had them in there for only a short while so I can't really say if they pose melting/discoloration issues.

Not in the couple of days I had them in there.

Attached is what the 10 LED looks like in there. Not as bright as the 5-way SBL, although the 9-way SBL version might be brighter than its 5-way counterpart.

I m using that del housig as turn signal(SDM44's mod), so I guess it won't turn on often and I don't need to worry about burning the housing, right?

That is where I put my 9LED bulbs (side parking). I don't believe they will cause a problem there.

I also updated my previous post with links to the bad bulb. You should be able to get dimensions for the bulb from the site.

It's probably a safe bet as long as the 9LED you're using isn't directly touching the glass, but use at your own risk.

Spiderman, so 9 led on the side parking slot is fine and not causing problem, right?

I will probably do 9led In the side parking and 5 led in the one that is above headlight...but just want to make sure 9led in side parking is fine

Spiderman indicated in his post that he's currently using this so it's a 5LED?

Right, I have the 9led bulb in the side parking. I haven't had them on for extended periods of time in warm weather but can't imagine they will cause a problem because 1. they have a good distance between them and the lens and 2 because the lens is yellow and not clear. I don't think a meltdown/though is possible but because the upper light is in the clear lens, discoloration is an issue (which was happening to me).

Did you post the wrong link because your post is showing a 5LED, not 9LED?

    :)
There is a link to the 5led which I am using now for the top marker light (under the clear lens). There is another link to the 9led that I had there before and that one caused the discoloration. I replaced the 9led with the 5led and moved the 9led to the side marker location (yellow lens). Hope that makes sense.... I know I can get quite confusing.
