dash lights and trunk prob

    once in a while my speedometer goes out and my trunk does not open all other dash lights work and then comes back on any help why it goes out and comes back on ????

    What is the condition of your 12v battery, have you ever run it down? Also check the connections at the 12v battery to make sure nothing is loose.

    You may be losing the combination meter, if the speedometer disappears while the car is in Ready and moving.

    That wouldn't cause the problem the OP has experienced with the trunk not opening.

    Check with your dealer if you have a warranty on your car. The replacement is expensive. I had pEEf repair mine this spring---works like a charm.

    My post in that thread deals with the pillar covers. The side curtain airbags will pop the covers loose when they blow. The twist end is to keep it from flying in a crash.

    Pop the pillar cover loose, then grab the end and turn to allow it through the slot.

    I removed and replaced my dash solo. It's big and a pain, but not hard to do.
