2011 Toyota Prius Offers All New PLUS Performance Package

Well hey, I checked out a Prius Four with PLUS yesterday, winter gray and the rims were definitely gray. Tell you what, it was a sharp looking car. Had illuminated door sills and a price over $34k (no solar).

I was thinking, geeez, some of the V owners might be a little ticked because, let's face it .... those rims are pretty slammin. I like split 5 (10 spoke) rims quite a bit. 'Bout my favorite.

btw, there was a sign in the car warning to remove spring spacers before test driving the car.

I guess the clearance is approved for all speed bumps out there. Have to watch parking towards curbs even more!

 

Notice how high the car is sitting in the 2nd pic ... that orange card hanging on rear view mirror is a warning to take spacers out before test driving.

 

I'm not too crazy about the gunmetal finish on black cars, but they'd look great on Blizzard Pearl especially with SR.

 

I hear ya, silver rims stand out better against black. I really don't like black rims on black cars. Need contrast!

 

Suspension, wheels, tires, & steering yes. I have no interest in the silly body add ons.

 

Yes, the spacers must be removed, they are in there for shipping only, so they can load and unload the car from the truck, once you take them out it sits MUCH lower, i personally love the way it handles over the orignal version...

 

I need these rims! Anyone know where I can buy them separately?

 

Mods mods mods. All of the modifications and wishing done to some of the Prii, i sometimes wonder why people bought a Prius in the first place. If i was not happy with the way my Prius looked or drove i would have bought something else ,but hey this is america, to each their own.

 

Because you can mod it and still get 45mpg+. Duh

 

Would like to see the prii mods driving in the areas that get 6 inch snow falls or flooding. There are a few areas in the country that can get away with lowering and "summer" tires year round.

 

You choose to live in a snowy region. The majority of us do not. Are you suggesting that mods are stupid just because you can't install them?

Just because you think they are silly doesn't mean that the options shouldn't be available for those who like them.

 

I recently tried to order the just the Prius Plus rear swaybar. My local dealer did their best to get it, but Toyota would not ship the part without a VIN for a Prius that had been built with the package.

I decided to go with a Scion xB TRD bar (PTR11-52091) instead. For me, the mod bumped up the fun-to-drive factor from a D- to a solid C

 

How about people that pay for "water" in a bottle. I get mine from the tap for free!

Nah, price is too high and mpg is too low.

 

Meh, they start at $29k, $35k really loaded. Not far from a loaded Prius.

I'm showing 51.3mpg (indicated tonight), that's close enough to 50mpg for me.

It's really a Prius with a big 'L' on it, lower MPG, better handling, and a slightly higher price tag. That, to me, sounds like the 'plus' pack for the most part.

 

True. Imagine the MPG you would get in a 3rd Gen Prius though.

I do have to say it is much nicer looking than the Prius.
