Short in transmission total replacement required

    I'd be very interested in seeing your photos of the transaxle interior. Given your statement above, I would guess that there's a short in the MG1 stator.

    2006 Transmission needs replacing, along with the inverter...

    TOTAL COST: $11,000
    What a bummer. We have to scrap it.

    Maybe not. What were the symptoms and error codes.

    A new transmission is available for $3012 and a new inverter for $3157. I don't think there is close to $5000 labor there.

    Used parts are much cheaper than the numbers I quoted.
