I know what you mean. I just told my dude to just go ahead and get the lowest price they'll part with a set for, and then I'll just go ahead and get them. For 3 sets, they're a little less, but I don't want to buy 3 sets! I'm buying enough stuff daily, it seems, as is... I keep waiting for my mother to put on the brakes to my spending, but she just called and told me to just enjoy myself, so I guess I'm still in the clear a while longer! lol! I get impatient for this stuff, tho. When I get the urge for something, I want it right then. My body kit is supposed to make its way to the port in Japan within the next 5-6 business days, then it'll all begin its 4-week trek across the ocean to the port in CA...then it'll be freighted across the U.S. to my bodyshop in FL. So, we're slowly getting there! But I'm in the mood for something put on my car NOW, tho! lol! So, I feel ya!

You're lucky. Most parents aren't supportive of their sons' modifications. My mom thinks people dent my car and I get beat up at the gas station. "No mom that was a rock on the freeway and I fell down the stairs." :)

That sounds like something you'd do. I assume you're getting the clear/chrome model to match your chrome rims. Do post some open box photos when you get them.

Well, it was between the smoked ones, which I've decided looked a little more on the ghetto side, since nearly every "ghetto car" driving around here has smoked tail lights, and I like the look of the red ones...(I always had some reservation about our clear ones, since everyone used to put the clear tail lights on their cars...back in the day), but I wanted it to match the car, also; SO, I decided to go with the red, slightly tinted ones, cause they also have the white "stipes" on the tail lights, and I have a white Prius:

I'm still torn between the bright red and the tinted red (or are you guys calling it 'black chrome', whereas I keep saying tinted?)...

I think it's really cool how someone put the LED strip down the side of the stock tail lights in the scan of the attached Japanese magazine page, also, but I guess that won't work on the LED tail lights, since there is no reflector on the side of the lights...

Sorry, but for the life of me, I can't get that image to attach any larger...

lol! yeah, but I kinda have a special 'situation'. (Not to be confused with "THE Situation"!!) We agreed that I would pretty much quit working, in order to care for my grandmother (my mother's mother) who had 'reached that point'... In exchange for the nightmare, my mother would 'foot the bill' for all my philandering... So, I've philandered a bit! lol

The chrome housing of HC's (#2) turn signals and reverse lights would complement nicely with your chrome rims, but I do like the look of the CR (#4) on more extensively modded Prius. You can't go wrong with either model.

Not to sound stupid, but what are you meaning when you say "chrome housing"? What are you calling the "chrome housing" on the tail lights?

It's the chrome area that you see in this picture.

On the other hand, the CR model (that you're calling tinted red) has a "red chrome" housing, with the turn signals also in the red chrome.

Likewise, Calvin's SB (#3) model has a "black chrome" housing. All the models have the reverse lights in standard chrome.

Personally I think the smoked units would look good on your modified BP Prius. Too bad the "ghetto" cars around your area have smoked lights.

    32K,
I really like the look of the HC version... is the shot above a picture of your actual car? If so, would you happen to have a full view shot of the back of your car without the brake lights on and one with just the parking lights on?

The HC looks a bit more OEM (less ricey) looking then the other variants out there. The CR with the darker shade of red would be perfect for me if it didn't have the neon looking tubes.

    TWP,
Is it possible to custom order the CR without the white neon looking tubes?

Yes, that's my actual car. I have a bunch of photos in the Part II thread. Side-by-side photos of the HC lights in action and one-side shots.

If you want to darken the HC a bit, you can put a red or smoke tint over the red. You may also do the same on the CR if you want to mask the white bars.

Rvinyl Headlight Tint, Tail Light Tint, Window Tint, Dash Kits shows how the different color films would look over the red (at the top).
