Yeah if you download the manual they have a 3 way mode. My install shop however said they think i would benefit from 100x4 with Hertz High Energy coaxials in the back.

I am still debating going with the DLS Ultimate 6.5" component in the front or the Focal Utopia 136W (5 1/4 component) set.

Anyone have thoughts? I might make a quick thread to see what others think, considering this is not the thread topic

MEE: I believe I told ya a couple times where I am going to get the install done. Audio Itch off 275 and Dale Maybry. Should be picking up the car tomorrow and it's going immediately into their shop OR Monday the latest.

Yeah I know, I couldnt remember where you told me, I couldnt find the post lol.

Ok cool. Good luck picking up the car.

There is a place by me MCOR in Lutz, that I hear have done some good work with audio & leather.

I called them today about leather and to keep the same color leather would be 899. custom would be around 1100. Not a bad deal. Let us know about the fiberglass install in the trunk.

    vidoprof,

You mentioned that you are thinking of installing Hertz HSK 163. I have now installed the midrange HL70 and the tweeter HT25 in the dash, and here are some pictures of how I did the installation. The midrange HL70 fits without any mods to the dash and grille. I mounted the tweeter on the grille (this of course required 2 holes in the grille, one for the mounting, the other for the cable), and ran the cable through an opening just below the HT70 down to the dash. I hope the pics will clarify the mounting.

I used the the supplied crossover between the MID and TW, but mounted them under the drivers seat, so there was a bit of wiring to be done.

The sound is much different from the original, and especially in standstill I find the outcome surprisingly OK considering I am still using the factory woofers in the doors, and the factory amp. The sound is perhaps a bit heavy on treble, but I have not had time for proper listening, as I just finished the installation yesterday. I will install the woofers to the doors some time (much) later, once I find suitable adapters. Furthermore, I am now playing with the thought of installing the JBL MS-8 to get the adjustments right, but that's some serious money.

By the way, my car is 2011 European model, non nav head unit, but 8 speaker sound system and a separate amp under the passenger seat.

My car does not have the JBL stereo. I am not familiar with the US packages, but here in Finland we have here two factory versions of stereo available, a 6 speaker version whcih is connected to the head unit, and another with 8 speakers and a separete amplifier. The JBL version is on option list only.
