I've been checking out the differences between the Gen III models. If I have this straight, the only difference between the Two and the Three is the JBL sound and XM radio?

The cost is about a grand, and if you add up blutooth, sat radio, and the 6 disc changer + extra speakers, it's to me about a break even deal. This March I ended up with a 2, kinda wished I had gone for the three....:(

You get an amp too with the JBL audio and aren't the speakers a little better than the stock 6-speaker setup? I think HTMLSpinnr has the audio specs somewhere here...

Yeah and note there's a difference between the integrated bluetooth (With the JBL) and the "BluLogic" bluetooth that's dealer-installed.

Im in the process of choosing between the Two, Three, and Four. I've test driven each extensively and rented a Two on vacation and I can defitely notice a differnece in audio quality in the upgraded JBL in the Three and Four as compared to the Two. I found the bass to be much deeper in the upgraded JBL.

The dealers near me in NJ seem to be about a $700 difference between the Two and the Three, see below example:

I'm new and facing the same decision between Two and Three. (Don't want uncooled leather, so Four and Five are out.). I noticed that Three is the "Price of entry" if you want nav or roof. I'm leaning towards Two and finding other solutions for Bluetooth and a backup camera.

I would go for the III over the II but if i had to do it all over again i would get the IV.

After you factor in the cost of "other solutions", how they may look and/or integrate isn't just getting the 3 from the start simplest?

I think I am going with the 2 and getting the Rosen Nav system. It looks exactly like stock- comes with more features and is only $800. Thus saving thousands compared to a 3 with nav

I ended up putting a deposit on an incoming base Three with my 1st choice dealer (across the parking lot from my Lexus dealer). It's also my wife's preferred color (Barcelona Red).

If the 3 sound system is good enough for the buyer that the buyer isn't going to want to replace it, then the simple approach of buying a three makes a lot of sense. Otherwise, a 3 doesn't make sense.
