So I ordered mine a couple of days ago, can't wait 'til they get here. I got them unpainted on ebay. I have a local body shop that I work with frequently that will help me get them painted blue for me. I'm familiar with their work and am sure will be happy with the painting once it's done. I was also thinking of putting some sound deadening material in the doors while I'm at it. Will post pics when I'm there.

Okay got this Mod done... just some cleanup work to do... Yea!!!! The main issue I had was finding the constant +12 volt for the puddle light.. Lots of teaser remarks about red cable in foot cowl side cover... blue wire we had some good pics for getting to that... I did use blue wire at top of A Colum... Any ways maybe CivicSky could update his direction around puddle lights as he has put together some good directions on installation at the begging of thread… Most people are using blue wire and red wire.... Note the red wire is the fat red wire in the drive foot cowl, and goes to the lower plug with the black release bar to the left of white plugs. Defiantly tap higher in wire harness as in picture.
Great pic of red wire under different thread... Thanks go out to Judgeless

Well, this is what the seller said about the folding mirrors:

" the one pair pice of PRIUS folding mirror kit with 3 in 1 LED light is USD 563.9
    Components including the following:
full kit of genuine LH & RH floding mirror kit with turn lamp(bulb)
    power switch + wiring
    LED light 3 in 1
Colored mirror cover as per your request.
Not including shipping charge because not getting exactly carton size, however, it would be around USD 90.- for shipping cost by EMS press which will reached by you within 5-7 days after the package sent out.
As checked, sorry to inform you this stalk CANNOT fit to your PRIUS, only the floding motor and LED light compatible. so we do nothing for the stalk that you want to be white color."

I know I have a rear-view camera, but I still miss the passenger side mirror tilt when I put it in reverse that the Deville had.

That's significantly cheaper than what Sigma is offering ($915). Is it the cheaper model designed for other Toyotas but also works on the Prius? Does it include both the auto-folding module and the motorized mirrors?

    Check out this video...

Where do we get the parts? I would like to add custom mirror as we have already done the hard part. Changing out mirror would be easy... I wonder if the mirror would still be heated…

Glad you got the mirrors all done! Now those were the e-bay ones right. How was the paint job?

Yeah, I eyed them on eBay a while back, but wasn't sure if maybe these aftermarket turn signal/folding mirrors would be that way, but I don't see any indication that they are.... Will have to scroll thru the eBay listings and watch, or contact the video dude....

the switch will be looking like this:

So when we turn off/on the car, will that auto fold? or we have to press the button everytime?

I really have no clue. I haven't the foggiest about wiring. This may be dependent on how u wire it (?), similar to how u can wire your signal mirrors differently, to do different things....

As they're nothing more than a novelty in the U.S., they should really auto-fold. Otherwise, you'd have to work hard to develop a habit of pressing the button every single time or forget about them, unless you really get your freak on from doing it.

I sent them another message, and I asked them about the mirror GLASS that has the LED's built into it for the signals, and I asked about INSTRUCTIONS for this (although I doubt it being available, since I think it's for some other Toyota model and not specifically the Prius (although it's supposedly the same thing), and I asked about the auto-fold question --- do they auto-fold when you turn the car on and off... I would say they do, and would guess that the button is just for the random occasions when you might want them to fold (like to avoid hitting something that you are driving very closely to). So, we'll wait for a response!

I'm thinking of purchasing the LED mirror covers from the guy on ebay ($109 + $20 for painting). Has anybody had them professionally installed by a private shop or Toyota dealer? If so, which one and how much for the labor?? Also, does anyone have complete step by step wiring instruction with photos??

I'm sure you can do some sort of DIY using simple relays. I got bored one day and looked at a couple of folding mirror setups on YT (ya I live a pathetic life lol :p) and came across one of a civic with folding mirrors using a custom module. From what I can see, the owner arms/locks his car and the mirrors fold, disarms/unlocks and they unfold.

I guess this could be somewhat useful to visually see from a far distance if your car is armed/locked or not.
