    Take a look at post #78, there is a link to another forum with collection of Prii documents, including service manual on CD that I originally found shared in the I'net back in May. Links are still active which means you can download the files :)

    I can't get #78 to work!

    Mendel Leisk has an electronic service manual and has been posting Pdfs of various sections. I try to keep an eye out for them so I can save them to a folder on my computer.

    Linux opens rar files fine. What zip file software are you using? Maybe someone here can help you get it setup so it automatically opens for you :)

    RAR compression and archiver features are better than ZIP, that's why it is used among computer literate users along with 7z. One of the most valuable features of RAR is a authenticity verification & recovery record. Just go on http://www.7-zip.org and download free software that will handle for you the following archive formats:


    • Packing / unpacking: 7z, XZ, BZIP2, GZIP, TAR, ZIP and WIM
    • Unpacking only: ARJ, CAB, CHM, CPIO, CramFS, DEB, DMG, FAT, HFS, ISO, LZH, LZMA, MBR, MSI, NSIS, NTFS, RAR, RPM, SquashFS, UDF, VHD, WIM, XAR and Z
    ..or download WinRAR from WinRAR archiver, a powerful tool to process RAR and ZIP files

    RAR & 7z were less popular because ZIP functionality is bundled in Windows but things has changed toward better software :) Reminds me about Internet Explorer story... now we have Firefox, Chrome, Opera to name a few.

    Those rar files will open into iso files which need to be burned onto a CD to open on a computer :)

    Yes, the ISO format is a disk image file, but you can also open it with RAR/7zip and decompress (extract) the files to a folder on your computer and then open them from there instead from CD/DVD. The easiest way however to handle ISO and IMG files is to install free virtual disk software like CloneDrive, mount the ISO file and run it as regular CD/DVD.

    What are the two files for gen 2. One is a menu with no links.

    One is a JPG image, other one is an ISO disk image as far as I can see based on file extension.

    Just be aware that 2010 iso image is for PHV car (ZVW35). Unfortunately we do not have one for ZVW30, AFAIK only pdf, no links version is out.

    I was shocked to see the page count :p No chance of printing that baby off on my own printer. I am in the process of uploaded the unzipped files to my site. I have the Gen I, II, III, and PHV manuals in one place ;) Index of /Prius/Service-Manual

    My cable Internet connection seems to have a very slow upload yet a smokin fast download. Gonna have to make a call Monday morning to see what's up with that.
