 I'm more than tired. IMHO anyone that thinks they can say anything about the existence or non-existence of God or about a belief system by comparative body counts is a fool. Any other comparative measure is just as ridiculous since both groups are made up of people, some bad, some good, and the minute you turn to compare and contrast with people as the quantitative object of measurement, the end result is always a FAIL.

Additionally, this is an open forum, I don't think children or anyone for that matter should be exposed to the anger and hate so prevalent in these threads unless they voluntarily do so. It was done for Politics it's time it was done to religion as well.

:hail: Consider this a humble request to those who must be obeyed! :hail:

I agree, nothing constructive will come from discussing religion here.

I respect what your belief system means to you even if I don't believe in your belief system. I think that's a good place to leave it.

Chuck seems like an OK guy, but I have been considering adding him to my short list of ignore just to cut down on these threads.

Will you extend this same courtesy to other posters that post as many or more than he has?

Wrong there. It's like saying anyone that thinks they can say anything about the existence or non-existence of the number two is a fool. Some people are just led to believe even numbers don't exist.

Seriously, that's what I've been saying all along. In fact, let's boil it down to it's most basic truth:

Anyone that thinks they can say anything about the existence or non-existence of God or about a belief system is a fool.

Oddly, on a couple of other boards I'm on where my politics are to the RIGHT of a lot of people ("You actually think we should have money?!? Why, so you can pay for your top hat and monocles?"), I usually spend my time arguing with the real Atheists (the "There is no God, end of story" variety, not the "Anybody who disagrees with me" variety).

I'm going to call the Three Post rule. If I say the exact same thing three times and the Other Side is still ignoring it, I'm convinced they're more interested in making noise than they are in having a discussion, so I'm wasting my time and shall not post on the subject any more.

So yeah, you folks from all sides keep making your noise; I've said all I have to say on the subject. Just cut 'n paste one of my previous posts and pretend that's an answer to what you just said; it won't make any difference.

And in the "putting my money where my mouth is" category, you'll note I haven't posted in any of those threads in days (except once to make a Monty Python reference that had nothing to do with anything), and I made a painfully obvious parody of the whole mess.

I vote we ban them all together... Unless someone can show me a passage that states: On the 8th Day God created Prius, I see no relevance in this Forum...

Probably did it on Saturday shortly after humans, realized what a great car, and took the rest of the week off to go driving. :)

I have no problem with religious threads, as long as they are labeled as such and remain in FHoP. I enjoy reading them. I enjoy the debate. I find other points of view fascinating.

I would prefer banishing posters who cannot remain civil, as opposed to moving all controversial topics out of FHoP. That said, I would be willing to reconsider if they start to take over the forum, as political threads did.

Same is true with politics, but it doesn't seem to matter.

Whoa! Them? Is that how we handle a POV we don't agree with? By banning those that hold it? Pathetic, IMHO, but I'm sure you'll find some here that agree with you. :glare:

Re-read what he posted. He was suggesting that religious threads be banned, not people.

Logically, a person who didn't respect his proposed ban on religious threads would eventually get banned but that is no different than getting banned for refusing to follow some other board rule.

Really, how can you tell? Pinto girl in her racial reference above says it's a joke.

edit: perhaps after a second read you may be correct. But banning a POV is no better than banning the person that holds it IMHO and after so many personal attacks on my beliefs I just don't think it's a joking matter any longer.

So then all your ad hominem anti-religious threads were put up so that you could waste time?

It's no worse than banning any other type of disruptive behavior. A ban on religious posting wouldn't be a ban on you expressing your religious POV, it would just be a ban on expressing it on PC.

As far as your religious POV being attacked, Christians are the ones in power in the US. If you want to experience your POV being ridiculed, try being something else in the US. I'm not complaining because it isn't really a big burden for me to be other than a Christian in the US, but hearing crybaby Christians complain about discrimination and their POV and religion not being respected makes me
