I have a 2010 Prius IV (purchased July,2009) and have 92K miles on it. My warranty expires at 100K (about 2 months for me). My warranty cost will be returned if I can last 2 more months without use.

Does anyone have information about these warranties for cars with 100K miles? My dealer had 12 months for $2300 which was too much. I don't need a replacement car, road-assistance and the actual engine is covered free from my dealer.

My dealer suggests I take the $1800 initial extended warranty and hope the repairs will not be too costly. I might add that I have had no problems at all, no repairs for the first 92k miles.

    Thanks,

    Rich Nathanson

Smart advice from your dealer. You've not had problems for 92k miles and there's no reason to think you'd develop problems over the next 12 months.
