    ;)

I was talking about the relative motion of physical objects in a four dimensional universe, not flights of fancy. The efficiency of the inputs fuelling our imaginations is another realm entirely.

Daniel, he was watching Star Trek.

The surplus gasses were more likely of the greenhouse variety, though. ;)

I appreciate very much how conscientious you are when it comes to transportation choices. But the smugness adds a certain bitterness which I don't believe you intend.

Actually, it's somewhat of a long running, occasional inside joke that other EV drivers can claim a humorous "smugness" label when posting about EV's vs a Prius. No bitterness intended, just the realization that one can always improve. (e.g. Bicycle riders get to say Smug with a capital "S" to EV drivers)

I heard the same thing about a chainsaw. You could cut more wood
Per btu with a chainsaw than you can by hand.

One of the arguments for hybrid cars is in a traffic jam like this one in California for Labor Day. Every vehicle is running its engine at 0(zero)mpg. Gas would be saved if these vehicles were hybrids or regular gas cars with stop-start technology.

We're at $4.07 in Chicagoland. And 25 cents less if you go west a bit and shop. Were at $4.40 back in April and I paid more than $40 for a tank - I didn't like that.

Meh. Work is 1.25 miles away and I really should be walking or riding my bike. I went 9 weeks in the spring without a fill-up, so I'm not at all complaining about the actual dollar/month cost. That said, at only one mile, the Prius gets less than 32 mpg, due to not even warming up, and far worse still in the winter. But driving it to and from Arizona a few weeks ago I was dang glad I wasn't driving a Hummer. Can't wait to get the PHEV.

In Malaysia RON 95 (I think this is the equivalent of the US regular) is RM 1.90 per litre so that’s around RM 7.20 per US Gallon or about $2.36

Note that RON 95 is subsidised here :)
