First off, thank you everyone! I have been lurking here doing my research for the past couple of weeks. After much research, I finally considered a 2007 Prius. I got it at a good deal as a Certified Pre-owned!

Anyhoo, after one day of riding (around 50 miles around LA) I am happy with my gas mileage (50.9 mpg). I am still getting used to the car and its myriad of intricacies. It is so different from my previous cars (albeit most of them being Toyotas) : 1992 Honda Prelude w/ a H22 engine swap, 1994 Toyota MR2 NA, and a 2004 Toyota Corolla XRS.

It is an interesting drive. Smart key is awesome. Ergonomics is amazing. And it is very spacious. The car still has a warranty till 2015 or 100k on powertrain, 150k on battery, and 1 year bumper to bumper. Dealer even gave me 1 year of free maintenance!

Long story short, I am a happy owner with no buyer's regret.:cheer2: I commute 100 miles each way to work and this should help a lot.

Thank you once again and I hope to meet / interact with everyone in the future.

I wish everone a wonderful evening!

    -Doni :)

Try not to lose sleep wondering why on earth you didn't do it sooner. ;)

Enjoy the improved mileage and thanks for trying to reduce your gas consumption, whatever the motivation. :)

    Congratulations!

Be sure to read up on recommended maintenance. The guys at the service desk will likely give you the hard sell since you are coming in for free oil and filter changes. You do not need fuel injector cleaner or other "suggested" services, but you should get a transaxle fluid change at the next service, about $85-$100.

Thank you! I have actually started reading some of the sticky posts in the repair / maintenance sections. It said there that the Transaxle fluid is supposed to last up to 100K. Is there a diagnostic to run to see if I need this at the next service?

Thank you, I appreciate the heads up!

Heck, we bought at the end of 2004 ... and I'm STILL kicking myself that we didn't buy at the beginning of 2004.
