I've had it with the popout/autostarting/loud obnoxious audio and video ads that litter this forum even inside posts.
Just wanted to say that I'm done until the ads are toned down.
Too greedy, Priuschat. Not everything in the world has to be packaged and marked up, you know

Try adjusting your browser settings or just try a different browser.

I don't see or hear anything like that with IE9 or on my droid.

Add IE7 & IE8 and Google Crome to that list. This site only has benign banner ads.

The ads come from your own browsing habits as saved in your browser cookie folder. They are your fault. The audio video problem sounds like a trojan virus to me.

My ads today are BMW, Suunto, REI, EMS, Lexus. Bank of Amer. Tire Rack ect

Ad Blocker Plus. Works really well with Firefox.

Amen to that. That said, there are some automotive forums that do have an overwhelming ad volume. This is not one of them.

I agree with Rae on this one. I've got firefox w/ ad blocker plus & the text ad blocker as well. Granted, even when I'm at work, I don't get these ads you're talking about. I think you have some kind of malware on your computer causing it. I would follow the steps of the nice fella that posted you 5 steps and provided the link on where to get the programs.

Now, if you were complaining about the speed of the website, then I could get behind it a little. Not that it's overbearingly slow, but it sure isn't one of the quickest by any means.

Definitely malware. I hate sites with obnoxious pop-up ads and videos, but this isn't one of them.

I don't use any kind of blocker on websites I like. One way to support a site like PriusChat is to white list it on any ad blocker addon;-) It's an easy way to support a website you visit regularly. Having a forum of my own, that's how you pay the bills. . Some ads make money even from just clicking them. Others net a commission only if a purchase is made. Some just track click-throughs and that determines if they renew a sponsorship or bid higher for ad placements. So, if I see something of interest, I'm happy to take a look and can ignore it on my own if I don't. Nothing is free. Busy sites can easily cost $300-$500 a month in hosting costs alone.

Honestly, PriusChat has less than average in terms of banner ads. Look at ToyotaNation to compare, and it much longer to load on my browser.

For 1 turn on POP UP BLOCKER in your browser, 2, get a copy of Ad Block, and 3, stop whining!
