The infamous Dianne Whitmire sent me these pics of setup screens for the 2012 Camry. Didn't know where to put them. I decided to put them here, since I'm assuming something similar will be available on the 2012 Prius. To which I say YEAH! :cheer2: Finally get to easily set things like lock options without performing arcane rituals or going to the dealer.

Must be missing the screens for the backup beeper and choosing / disabling the external noise generator.

Screen inputs for customizable options will be welcome but I believe you can kiss the idea of modifying or disabling the noise maker. If the law states it is mandatory and can not be modified or disabled by the owner there is no way in Hell any manufacturer is going to document the process any more than telling you how to roll back or disable the odomoter or how to run without a catalytic converter.

    Setup - Vehicle questions:
After pressing "Setup -Vehicle" I see these settings:
*Auto Lock by Speed - ON/OFF
*Auto Lock by Shift from P - ON/OFF
*Auto Unlock by Shift to P - ON/OFF
*Remote 2 - Press Unlock - ON/OFF What does this do?
*Key System with Elec. Key - ON/OFF What does this do?
    *Lock/Unlock Feedback - Tone - Adjustable
    *Headlamps -On Sensitivity - Adjustable
    *Headlamps Auto-Off Timer - 30 sec, 60 sec, Off
    *DaytimeRunningLights - ON/OFF

Any you Prius folks know where I can get details on these setup commands, particularly the two I highlighted?

I can envision little happy engineers thinking "This is so easy, anybody could know what we were thinking." HAR HAR

if you turn off the "Remote 2 - Press Unlock" it will allow you to unlock all the doors with just one press. I have this set and it's great to only have to push the button once.

As a courtesy to others when you are walking to the vehicle with someone and they will be getting to the door before you so you don't have to make them wait until you touch the door first.

Whatever floats your boat. But be that as it may "untrained" people will walk up to the door and yank on the door handle which I don't like. Regardless though just I don't like making any person wait for me. To me that just feels rude, but obviously not everyone shares my sentiments...

My thinkin is I will use less batteries in my remote by not using it ;) I don't drive my Prius in the rain so nobody is standing outside taking a shower while I am inside pushin that unlock button

There's really no need to discuss it further. Joking or not, some people regard the consideration of other people higher than the capacity of some batteries in a remote. Some do not.

It's great that Toyota lets us program the door locks the way that works best for us. On my 2010, the doors would all lock the instant I put the car in drive. This was very frustrating, because in the morning, I usually pull forward a few feet in my driveway before letting others in. I'd always forget to unlock the doors. But with this car, I could customize it to do what works for me.

The way it's set up now works great for me. If I lived in a city, I might not want one press to unlock all doors.

You can program the locks on the 2010 as well, one of the first things I did was turn off the lock when in drive!

Yep. Rebound, if you still have the '10, see Things that can be customized | PriusChat.

On the '10 - '11, the normal way change those is to have a dealer set them w/Techstream.

I found I could program everything -except- the reverse beeping. The dealer had to set it to "one beep" for me using their programmer. It's all in the manual. RTFM! ;)

I'm not sure if you're responding to Rebound, but if yes, on the '10 and '11, the color LCD touchscreen was NOT standard. Many/most customizations that can be done w/the '12's standard touchscreen required Techstream on the '10 and '11 (hence the pages from the manual in the thread I referenced).
