Did you miss the show during our end-of-summer hiatus? Good! This week on the PriusChat Show we are lucky enough to sit down and have an in-depth conversation with Toyota’s Prius Team, Doug Coleman and Erica Gartsbeyn. Doug is unfortunately moving from the Prius Team to another product within Toyota, so this interview covers a wide range of topics including Doug’s highest and lowest moments with the Prius. We also talk with Erica about the future of the Prius Team and whether Toyota will continue to participate on PriusChat after the shake-up. Don’t kill your mileage with that 15 minute engine warm-up!. Available now at http://priuschat.com/shop/ .

Still listening but great to hear from Doug and Erica and hear more of their perspective on Prius and the brand. Also Danny, picturing you as the nice person-nose is an image I cannot unfortunately get out of my mind! lol

Oh god... "yeah but I would be a bigger nose" LOL.

Yeah it's great to get a "behind-the-scenes" to how this all came about.

I do remember that all those management types were in Detroit...

    ... I wasn't THAT drunk.

LOL... no, seriously, it was great. I loved being able to talk to various management people, from different areas within Toyota and around the world, really...
it was a great time. Loved meeting everyone.

I'm sure Doug does not remember me at all ;)

I'm not a regular listener but this was a great ep!

I do agree about Doug's comments at around the 37 minute mark about "everybody wants this feature..." and people being terrible at estimating what everybody else wants. I ran into at my previous work when it came to features or how/whether something would be implemented. Everyone was so different in the usage of (in my case) software or devices.

What a group of enthusiasts or geeks want isn't necessarily going to be what non-enthusiasts want.

I do agree about Doug's comment but keep in mind that Prius has became to what today it is because of been an icon for a big group of enthusiasts who have found in this car something that represents "how to make things different". Maybe in the future many cars will do what Prius does today, but as word "Prius" means Toyota should keep this car as a reference of innovation and for getting that you should keep listening Prius enthusiasts, they are becaming a very big family and you should find many different points of view of what Prius should be in the future. Remember as Toyota ads say: Today, Tomorrow, Toyota.
