    I pulled out to pass a harvester and discovered it was fifth in line, by the time I was tucked back in my lane, 93 MPH

    I had it up to 80mph once, still breaking it in. The speedo was reading 1 mph more than the reading on the GPS I was using.

    Brief bursts of high 80's on my recent trip to NC from VT. Car felt fine, but I could feel my insurance rate tingling.

    Generally I travel at 68-70mph on the highway (65 limit here)

    113 mph on the GPS (115 displayed) for about 5 miles, flat access restricted road and no other traffic. I am not proud of it but I got the phone call you never want to get. My very upset Dad called and said Mom would not last the night, get here right now. Saying goodbye was very important to me. I dropped to 80 mph (10 over) once I caught the other traffic. The car was rock steady and still pulling right up to the limiter kicking in.

    Sorry, but I can't think of anything nice to say: I just hope that when the inevitable happens you don't maim or kill anyone else. Hopefully between now and then you get busted and pulled off the road.

    My 2010 tops out at an indicated 116, where the speed limiter chip shuts the engine down. Still pulling hard enough so you can feel it nose over as the speed limiter shuts the engine down.

    My fastest was 125-130km/h km/h when I was following a car that was supposed to show me how to get somewhere
    my usual highway speed is 115 km/h and my usual city speed is 60 km/h

    My fastest on a long straight back road to Swan Hill was 130kms/h on the speedo. I backed off voluntarily so didn't feel the limiter cut in.

    i did not know that the engine can shut down.

    At 115 mph I dident feel the limiter chip shut down the engine.. now i have to try it again tommorow and take it past 116 mph to see it kick in...
    i am curious to see if that happens,
    also the car has 3000 miles on it now so can i consider it broken in?

    115 for me - toll road driving (good conditions) - also got it to 115 on a local ex-marine base runway a few times (surprised it made it up to speed in that distance)...

    For those of you who actually got yours to 110+ What size/brand/model/speed rating tires were you using and what was the cold pressure in PSI?

    Michelin Primacy MXV4 195/65R-15 91H RRBL
    H rated to 130 mph / 210 km/h

    Cold PSI=42/40

    They had ~5,000 miles on them and were at ~100% tread depth.

    My situation was extreme and I don't recommend or condone it, nor am I proud of it.

    Bridgestone Turanza 195/55/R16 87V @ 35 PSI (240 kPa) front, 33 PSI (230 kPa) rear
    87 = 1,201 pounds (545 kg)
    V = 149 mph (240 km/h)

    It was before I upped the pressure to the current 42/40 PSI (290/280 kPa).

    Why are you asking?

    My Prius seems to be extra squirrely lately and I don't know if that has to do with the tires.

    It still tramlines like crazy whenever grooves are present and you are driving over 55 mph.

    Pressure is 42/40. I don't know if I want to take it too fast.

    I have reached 120 twice now on flat I-95 with no tricks, just on my own. The pedal feels like it has more room to go but if I take off Full Power and try I can only get to 109. Nothing about my 2011 Prius is modified, all stock, base model.
