Yes, it's true, the Online Order System is not going live in October as we had previously expected. But don't worry, it's coming soon. We're just incorporating a few last minute tweaks from some recent customer testing to make your experience the best experience possible.

So, stay tuned for an update. And, if you're a Priority Registrant, you will receive an email letting you know in advance when the site will launch so you can adjust your schedules accordingly.

Thanks for your patience while we improve a few little things for you.

    Best,
    Erica Gartsbeyn

Hopefully the delay will be to incorporate some 'non-grey' based color choices.

    ;)

I gave my dealer my priority account password while on a trip. There's no apparent way to change it. Am I missing something?

And while I have your attention - can you confirm whether the EPS assembly in the advanced version will be the same better EPS that is in my 2010 Five model for $40K I hope so), or will instead be the standard version from the other models? Thanks.

I wonder if this can also be interpreted as a longer wait for the production cars to ship...

Don't even go there lol... I doubt vehicle production would be changed due to this but if it does they may as well call it a 2013 and NOT a 2012...

Tell them to make LED headlights standard on both models of the PHV.

Thanks for the update. It's great knowing Toyota is making such an effort to provide a nice order process... since the inevitable wait which follow (the price of being a popular product) will seem like forever.

hey you guys! Don't shoot the messenger! Erica's doing her best and so is Toyota!

Do you want the order system to crash in the middle of your order?! NO!!! It's very clear they don't need that huge an amount of lead time between initial order and start of production, so the more time they spend making sure your order experience isn't a fiasco, the better!

    BTW: :D to November!

I was ready to bet a thousand dollars when Toyota announced there would be a new color that it will be a bright green. It seemed such a no-brainer: the Plugin will need to be differentiated somehow from the regular model plus it is their greenest car! Oh well, shades of grey it is...

    Erica,

Dianne is right. I owe you an apology for my comment about the delivery of the cars possibly being further delayed. When one thinks about all of the massive setbacks in Japan due to the tsunami, it is amazing that Toyota still plans to deliver any of these cars on schedule.

    We appreciate your work!

Do you think the EPA label will be released before they start taking orders?

The Camry MPG numbers were not up on the fueleconomy.gov site until at least a week after the 2012 Camry debuted. But I just checked and the Prius v numbers are already out there.
