    Hello All,

I recently purchased an '06 base model and am working through all the maintenance issues. After having the dealer look it over, I chose to do my own oil change.

Like a good boy, I heeded the warnings and pulled the battery service plug.

Afterward, I installed the battery service plug, sat down in the car with the driver's door and the hatch open, and pressed START w/ my foot on the brake.

At this point, I got the big, scary, Triangle light and the message on the Multi-purpose display decodes as "Take to the Dealer immediately" (paraphrasing)

I have quadruple-checked the batter service plug to see if I got it in wrong somehow, I've inspected for corrosion and seen none. I have verified that the fuse is not blown. I closed all the doors and tried again.

The only thing I've not done is lift the 12V battery lead to "reset"

    Any advice appreciated.

    Thanks,

Why did you pull the battery plug? Thats only neccessary if working on hi voltage components in the car klike the Inverter or the CVT.

You do not have that plugged inserted correctly. There's a locking lever of sorts that must be engaged. I've never had to unplug that plug so not exactly sure how it works but others will quickly come along and explain it. There's many posts mentioning it.
Don't do anything more until thats addressed so you don't make it worse.
