    HEY PRIUS CHAT FOLKS !!!

    :):):):)

Many thanks for the kind words regarding the INJEN INTAKE !!!

The intake was a great addition for the 2011 SEMA Show !!!

In regards to the gains in HP and such, because the intake allows the engine to breathe more air, the air/fuel mixture combination has change thus utilizing more fuel. And so obviously with more HP comes more Fuel Consumption.

The HSD system is made specifically for fuel efficiency and therefore you will experience the "Check Engine Light" to turn on. My friend who is a mechanic at Toyota informed me of this and said that there is no way around this.

As with most of my modifications, this included especially is for off road use only. I will only be DISPLAYING this INJEN INTAKE when I am at car shows and events and NOT for my daily use.

    Hope this helps !!!

I'm sorry to say that, but more and more your thread becomes a big advertising page with phone numbers and so. Great pictures for sure, but my enthusiasm for your way in modding the Prius turned in some dissapointment (especially the stickers gave me the rest). Just adding parts is something everyone can do. Don't get me worng but sometimes less is more. Maybe you can go on and develop some really new ideas of your own and let one produce them. That may become great innovations that are not just around and will make your car really unique :) (gullwings, suicide doors, solar roof-hood-hatch, touchless buttons, motoriced seats, etc.)

Regarding the Injen intake, you advertised this as "..dynoed by Injen". Therefore a dyno sheet exists and should be presented. Ask your friends there so you can post it here. Interestingly the HKS premium suction kit as well as the pro kit do not throw a CEL. If I would have installed such a kit I'd be interested in what CEL exactly is set. Just to prevent any damage to your highly modded car.

    Hello Robby !!!

In an effort to help fulfill my Sponsorship with the companies I am affiliated with and to help Prius Chat members know who to contact for specific questions beyond my knowledge, I leave contact names and numbers for reference. This helps me to connect the right folks together !!!

Anyone can definitely add parts to their vehicle. Since Day 1 of my Build my intention with this Project was to show Prius Chat members (who aren't mechanically gifted like me) that they can find companies stateside that can help them modify their car easily !!! Basically, "If i can install it, anyone can" !!!

I understand my style isn't everyone's cup of tea. There are many different builds here on Prius Chat and I am happy to see so much individuality and enthusiasm in this particular discussion board grow within a year's time. Living here in Southern California particularly, custom car culture is quite the scene !!!

The company stickers on my Prius is also part of Sponsorship. The SEMA show is what I have been getting my Prius ready for during the first year's time of ownership. Having taken part of such a great show has made my dream come true !!!

I am fortunate to have built the business relationships with the Sponsors that I have in such a short time. Maybe someday I will be able to create new innovations that will inspire others. But for now, the current products that I have on my vehicle have inspired me to integrate them into my own personal style. Between grad school, internship, work, and other interests, I wish I had time to develop new products !!!

In regards to the Injen Dyno Sheet, I specifically did not post that information as I did not want the discussion to lead off into something too technical beyond my knowledge. Again, that is why I leave contact names and numbers for everyone such as Injen. If there is something beyond my realm of expertise I leave it to the manufacturer to speak on my behalf. The last thing I want to to do is provide incorrect and misleading information !!!

The HKS Suction kit you talk about sounds interesting, it would be great to hear your experiences with that product should you decide to purchase it.
Please let us all know where you found information regarding the CEL settings with that product !!!

Again, some of the products that I do have on the vehicle are for off road use only and are not intended for daily street use. These particular products on my vehicle are for show purposes only !!!

I hope you can join me at the 2012 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, it is a great community that brings folks in the Aftermarket Industry together with Owners and Enthusiasts sharing a common bond ... Modifying and Customizing !!!

Thank you again for your great input, I really appreciate it !!!

Hope you have a great week ahead !!!

    Rodney;
Keep it up, you are doing this forum a great service. My Prius would be stock if not for you. Giving out names, websites, etc.. just gives others some direction where to go. Your gains or sponsorships are your business. Everyone can view and make their own choices and based on the fact that there are 60 pages in this thread, many have done just that. Im loving every post. Thanks

Hey Rodney, as said before I don't wanted to slam the way you're doing the mods and of course I understand the sponsorship thing. But use your affiliation to those companies to drive them to create innovations and not only importing parts and sell them. Beside of that the mods are well done and your car looks great for sure :) Especially the air suspension system is great. Too bad it is not legal on the european roads.

We do have the HKS Premium Suction Kit installed on my car. This kit only consists of the aluminum pipe in between the throttle body and filter housing and a new drop in filter (no oil needed!). The Greddy informeter back-to-back tests showed an increase of 4hp for the ICE. Nothing spectacular and not noticeable on daily use. Also no change in MPG. Also no CEL.

The other version is the HKS Racing Suction Kit. I have sold a kit to customer in Europe and he reports no CEL too. You see that HKS went another way in positioning the MAF sensor. For a show I think it looks better compared to the Injen filter ;) I don't know if their cover is needed at all.

Unfortunately, Las Vegas is far far away from Europe and I may not have the chance to get there . Maybe I can plan the holidays for next year different.

    Cheers
    Rob
