PriusChat "Certified Dealer" Program - looking for suggestions

    It simply means that there isn't much spread between msrp and invoice.

    So does that mean a smaller than expected "discount" through you?
    It must be a really small spread because there is not much on the standard Prius.:(

    No, I'm doing the deal I promised everyone. I'm just not going to be able to discount any cars that don't make the priority order queue. There's less $ in a phev than there is in the Prius v wagon. (in msrp) but I'm not complaining. Just expressing myself! :)

    The time to order is growing near, so I'm wondering if there will be any participants (near me).

    Ok, everyone, here's an update on the PriusChat Certified Dealer Program:

    I have several dealers on board on both coasts and hope to have deals finalized so that I can announce them all soon. So far I can let everyone know that Dianne at Carson Toyota is on board and Andy (Sales Manager) at Magnussen's Toyota in the Sacramento area is in, as well. There are many other dealerships that I hope to have finalized deals done today and will announce this weekend or early next week.

    Here is what you, as a PriusChat member, will get by pre-ordering through a PC Certified Dealer:

    • Required: A minimum $500 discount off of the 2012 Prius Plug-in MSRP, on both the Standard and the Advanced model.
    • Free PriusChat swag when you come to pick up their 2012 Prius Plug-in.
    • One year free PriusChat Premium membership.
    • Dealer agrees to not require add-ons or warranty programs.
    I'll have a submission form up later today for you to send your info to one of our participating dealers. For those who have are planning on ordering through Dianne and have already talked with her about it, make sure she knows you're coming through the PriusChat program so that you get all of the bonuses that come with it.

    I still have not heard a firm go live date for the online ordering system but I'll keep everyone updated as I receive information.

    I just put $500 down for my new Plugin Prius. I live in CT, and there are not too many Toyota dealerships here. I visited the three closest dealerships, to service my 2010 Prius and HH. I found Colonial Toyota to be the best for service and Hybrid knowledge. I therefore ordered my Car from Richard Woodroof, in Web sales. In my case the process was very simple, Color white, all options possible ;). Of course I would like them to be a PriusChat "Certified Dealer". His e-mail: [email protected]

    Just to clarify, are you eligible to order in the "priority online ordering system" or are you placing an order with the dealer for a future allocation vehicle? If it is the former, you do understand that your car has not been officially ordered, right?

    No one's car has been officially ordered.

    I also have figured something out, I think. The order process and your place in line is set when you confirm your last step - agreeing to the dealer's emailed pricing ... the 96 hour window won't matter if your dealers are confirming things with others and sell out all 15K while you're mickey mousing around trying to use the "open window" as leverage. Best to set your deal in advance and know what to expect from your selling dealer.

    You're right about Dianne, I'm sure! :) However, I try to support local businesses when I can.

    It would be great to have at least one San Diego dealer in the program, especially since the long-term plan for the program is to include more than just PiP purchases. Also, some dealers seem to provide better service when they know you bought the car from them. That's not always the case, but it does happen.

    Is anyone planning to purchase from dealers in Virginia? I would like to talk to a dealer who knows the situation(what a PiP priority ordering is?). I filled the form for Priuschat Certified Dealer in Virginia but no one has contacted me.
