Is there any way to improve reliability of "automatically retrieve titles from external links"?

Sometimes when I post links to articles (e.g. Apple: We're looking into lingering battery complaints | Apple - CNET News), Priuschat will fail to retrieve the title of the link. It mostly works though. When it fails to work, the only workaround I've found it to click Edit then Save. Sometimes I have to do this MANY times for it work.

Is there a better way to get them to attempt to be re-retrieved or am I wasting my time?

I always disable retrieval of titles, since the title is often long and cumbersome. I put my own title. Or I describe the link and say "here" for the link.

Two features for which I wish the default was OFF rather than ON, are automatic retrieval of link titles, and automatically embed media.

You can manually set the title by using the vbb code. Between the first set of square brackets and second set of square brackets, you can enter what you want the text of the link to be. If you edit your post you can see how the vbb code works, it is mostly analogous to the <a href="http://www.link.com">this is the link</a> html code.

Yeah, I know that. Clicking the Insert Link button on other vBulletin sites does that for me. But, I'm too lazy to do either. I'd rather just copy and paste the link, even if the title's wrong.
