Brakes don't stop well in some areas

    Thanks, Tom, I buy that. But I still think regenerative braking isn't really "braking", it's really more like downshifting a manual transmission. And the ABS engagement you mention happens with other cars as well; they call it "anti-skid" or "traction control" or something similar.

    I'm not trying to belittle Prius, just demystify it a bit, and make it clear that when you hit the brakes, it's very much like other cars, especially if you brake hard/panic brake.

    This is a bit off topic. I don't know where and how to create a new thread and this thread was the closest. My red brake light, yellow warning light, and ABS light came on and had my vehicle (2009) towed into my dealer. They told me my solenoid and brake actuator needed replacement. The car does highway driving and has less than 60,000 miles. When it was in for its 27 pt inspection nothing was said about this condition 7-days earlier.
    I'm wondering if any of you have or heard of problems like this because I think it is a Toyota malfunction. What do you think

    Go to "Forums". Select "Gen II Prius Care, Maintenance, ..." Click the "New Thread" button at the upper left above the thread list. Create your new thread.

    As for your problem, yes, others have experienced a similar problem, but it isn't common.
