It is that beautiful stuff that makes mountain recreation so fun, and insect-free, during the cool season. And stores our water supply for the warm season.

I use Nokian Hakkapeliitta RSI snow tires on my Prius and it does great in the snow. I was just surfing the web reading lots of comments from drivers about snow tires vs. all wheel drive with all season tires...snow tires always seem to be the winner.

For obvious reasons, snow tires will always outperform all season tires for winter driving. That said, all season tires are an acceptable compromise in some parts of the country. We run Nokian WR-g2 all season tires on our 2006 Prius, and they do fine in our snowy Michigan winters. Snow tires would be better, but for our conditions I am not willing to trade tires twice a year.
