Look at page 3, Rosen Navs ups and downs (or something like that). Cloud is the OP. I thought it was a good, unbiased opinion of the good and bad.

Sorry, but I'm not too good at links.

Found it thanks! Although older posts. Have they updated the software since or still the same problems?

ADC Mobile just quoted me $975 for the unit and back up camera shipped. Talk to Walt at ADC, very nice and accommodating.

I'm in the same boat. I want to wait for the 2012 Prius to get in, but I'm not sure when that will be...

    Nice install documentation.

Just picked our 2011 IV up last Sunday. Everything is great except for the Nav screen when the sunlight hits it at certain angles, washes out for the most part.

I've seen the hood that's available but it looks like it blocks the air from the ventilation ducts? Can't find any pictures from the side just a bad head on picture that may have been taken at an awkward angle.

Please advise if you have had a good experience with the Nav Hood for 2010-11 models. Searched for previous posts on this with no luck.

This is a really informative thread. I've just bought a Prius II, but wasn't thinking things through and bought Blulogic with it, which is just money that could have gone towards a head unit I suppose (I guess I can ebay the Blulogic if I remove and recoup a little bit).

Can anyone tell me if the Rosen gives you access to podcasts on an iPod through the iPod interface? That's a major sticking point to me as I listen to more podcasts than music through my ipod in the car.

I tried my wife's iPod Nano on my Rosen and it looks like it had a reasonable amount of control over the Nano. I need to try it again and do a better evaluation.

I tried podcasts on an SD card and titles don't show and if you shut power off, it loses track of where you were so the podcast starts over when you restart the car. I don't recommend the SD card approach.

SD card access seems weird on the Rosen to begin with, so I'm still not sure that would tell me much about podcasts on an actual iPod.

Between the Rosen and the Advent units I'm not sure which is better (in so far as one can be better), but I do like the chrome bits on the knobs of the Rosen.

We used the Rosen with my wife's Iphone 4 and the podcasts popped right up.

We could select the podcast right from the head unit screen.

The Rosen with the Ipod is a little odd. Tracks first show up as numbers and when you push the Menu soft key on the screen interface, the track names show up. you can then push the track name and the song plays. Up and down arrows let you scroll up and down maybe 10 or 12 at a time.

It works well once you figure it out. You might use numbers to skip ahead 200 songs. I'm not sure how the Rosen handles podcasts with an Ipod but Its' probably the same.

Hmmm, that still sounds kind of wonky. I think I'm leaning more towards the Advent unit at this point since it seems the software is simply better (with possibly software updates being applicable by the end-user rather than just the dealer - though I may be reading things wrong in that regard).

I tried podcast with a iPod but did not get it could be me. You can easily change a pod cast to music by iTunes. Get info on podcast and change pod cast to music on options then find the podcast in music and make a playlist called podcast. Really like the Rosen unit bought latest version in October.

Does anybody know if the rosen navigation system works with siri on an iPhone 4s? By using the factory jbl steering wheel controls?

    Thanks

Fraychild, you are doing some of the things to your 2010 that I want to do with mine. For some reason I cannot open your pics, would really like to see them. My question is this. I want to install some kind of consol with a nav screen like I saw in the youtube vid. I just want to be able to use the screen for nav and possible touch screen environment to use radio, CDs, and possibly continue to use my itouch in the AUX slot. I would also like to add a backup cam if possible, but all this would have to be from scratch as I don't have anything other than what I got when I purchased my stock 2010 basic Prius. I don't have bluetooth or any other modern tech toys and really don't plan on having them. I have looked at the number of offerings on ebay for a plug and play unit, but prices are all over the place. I have never heard of Rosen, but then again, I am not techy at all. I also want to add fog lights which does seem quite simple and exterior mirrors with turn signal indicators built in, but the lone vid I watched was not very good. Anyway, this is my quest. Anything you or other members can share would help a great deal. Thanks!

The thread is a couple of years old. The pics have probably expired.

I just installed my Rosen and the map is so outdated. I have lived at my house for 8 years and every map on the internet and GPS I've ever used has my address except the Rosen navigation map. That sucks. I would love to upload a more recent map but sounds like a difficult task. Also, the voice guidance volume is very low and inaudible. I called Rosen tech and they said I have a defective unit....ugh! Has anyone experienced similar problems? I have maxed both volume settings on the Rosen.
