What happens at 63mph?

    You're saying it doesn't run in blended Hv mode with a fully charge pack above 63mph, depleting the pack to a point where it then runs like a normal Prius. ?

    Thats not what I've gathered from others. Or does having an Ev switch in the production model change that. I'd rather it not run in a blended mode above 63mph, so i can use that Ev charge later in my commute when it'll benefit me the most.

    Ok, the demo 2010 Prius plug in did not have user selectable EV/HV mode. The 2012 Production Plug-in prius does has user selectable EV/HV mode.

    Now, dealing only with the production model...

    I don't remember is once you go above 62mph and it drops out of ev mode if it will go back to EV mode again by itself once you go back down below 62mph again. I would think it does not but I just don't remember.

    That being said, on the production, once you go above 62mpg or you manually go out of EV mode because you will be getting onto the highway and driving for many miles, the mileage you had left in EV mode stays until you go back into EV mode again. You can even increase the EV distance on a road trip if conditions are right like going down long hills etc.

    So yes, on the production model, you can save your EV charge for whenever you want later by just going out of EV mode and going back in later on.

    Awesome. I can't wait.
    I think I can make this a 100MPG car over my daily commute of 94 miles r/t, but we'll see.

    I wish you luck in that venture. At 94 miles it is certaintly possible. Maybe if you can charge it at your intermediate destination? The PiP would certaintly be your best choice for that commute though.
