    Hello All,

My wife and I are proud new owners of a brand new Prius III w/Solar in Blizzard Pearl w/Camel interior.. a very nice looking car indeed..

This is the first Prius for us.. so, only the second day she drove it to work so far... but an interesting thing happened while she was walking through the parking garage..

As she walked by another Toyota in the parking garage, the lights blinked. Enough to make her wonder if it was from her key in her coat pocket. She noted, she didn’t see anyone around or in the car. One would think that each would be on its own frequency??

We'd like to think that every Prius has it's own unique internal key codes.. makes us wonder if that would happen to her car the other way around??? (and/or if she unlocked the other car when she walked past - or if it would take a touch on the door handle to do that?)

We've sent an email note to our Dealer/Salesman to see if they can comment.. but any comments or suggestions here would be welcome..

    Regards,
    Joe & Sheryl

welcome! you have to touch the handle or press the fob buttons. someone was probably walking away from the car and locking it with the fob. she should have taken her fob out and tried the button.

You don't need to touch the door handle to activate interior lights. Walking near the car with the FOB is sufficient.
