That is what I would do. In any event, spoilers aren't for speed, they are for aerodynamic management, either to provide down force, or to smooth airflow off the front/back of the vehicle, in this case. So clearly the note writer is ignorant as well.

My reply would point out their ignorance, etc. Oh, I could go on and on.

In any event, I think ignoring it would be the best thing to do. If confronted, my favorite response has always been: "Well that would really hurt... if I gave a F()(((! about anything you had to say about anything."

The problem the OP is stuck with right now, is that if he uses the note for any sort of retort, the original note maker will know who it is. As much as you may want to retaliate, and I know I would, it's probably best just to do nothing.

A good reply if they come up to you in person and say something, is similar along the lines of mmcdonal, but I like to just say "Are you talking?" or "Did I ask?".

If there were no cameras around, I'd say you could just slash his tires - I did that to someone once when I was young, immature, and dumb. It felt great at the time, though lol.

Funny thing to me is different business policies. Where I work - it relates to "Parking"
Often, companies will grasp the value of making it company policy to assure their employees of their "Value" ... via service awards, pats on the back, etc. But - sometimes laws have to be enacted to keep things fair - because other companies won't give enough benefits. Take IRS approved Cafeteria plans; if you pay the big wigs to take Educational assistance, then you have to give it to the pee-on's.

NOT SO with parking. Put the pee-on's out in B.F.E. parking lot - forcing them to walk a half mile ... the company policy has just said, you're less than I. I'm better than you. NEVER, are the primo parking spots given to the janitor that has 40 years with the company. I'd guess the fellow managers are NOT the culprit(s) here. I'd guess it's a disgruntled hourly person, who is trying to vent about the parking. Bad feelings over parking are rampent here - at the big ol' multi-national corporation I'm working at. New office secritaries get the best parking ... entertainment lighting tech's get the best parking, quality inspectors ... best parking ... as well as VP's, managers, etc. But - the lowly machinists? Shoot. There was one great fellow who had FIFTY YEARS with the company. He had to walk from the south fourty. They call it "the walk of shame". Cold ... rainy ... the walk of shame. Sure ... "we like you ! ! ... we appreciate you ! !"

I lucked out with my Leaf parking. One of the VP's bought a Volt. Only because he wanted the best parking (and he wanted to plug in) did they install chargers over 4 parking stalls ... and they installed them nice and close. Yea ... parking can be just one more thorn in company policy, when lots of other stuff is sour.

Typical middle schoolish aged mentality insult of insulting someone by ridiculling them and additionally questioning their "masculinity". Points to someone who is immature and suffering from inferiority complexs OR to someone setting up someone else. Hence why the video camera review wouldn't be so bad, just to confirm who's who.

Couldn't you just see the moment, you review the video, see who did it and later, while stirring your coffee in the break room...... they walk in, you say in a low voice so only they can hear, "You know, they let me review the video cameras in the parking garage to see who left the note....." and walk away. I wonder if they would apologize, laugh it off as a joke, or (most likely) deny/deny/deny.

The last one would make the HR meeting oh so much glorius. Don't wait too long, who knows how often the over tape the videos.

Usually weekly. I learn that on a detective show. Those cameras make hiding a dead body difficult!

I wouldn't make a big stink about it thru official channels. Then you'd just be labeled as a crybaby who goes to management when their manhood is questioned. A 'war' in this sense would only hurt you.

But I would leave a response on the car, assuming they'll see it again.
Something like "men who get 50 mpg and keep their money out of the hands of terrorists don't need speed to make them feel important".

Come on, it's just stupid. Forget it. A guy doesn't deserve to get fired or go through a bunch of stress over a prank. Just laugh it off and forget about it.

That's nothing compared to the hate I receive on the road every day and in the E46fanatics forum. Be glad people don't try to run you off the road at 6am in the morning. Not sure about a spoiler on a prius, I'd rather put some bigger wheels and maybe a sound system, I love my SUB!

Depends upon the security policy of the business. When I was in retail banking, we changed tapes weekly but kept like 6 months worth of tapes (I'd hope they moved to SD cards or HDD by now). It was always fun writing the dates on the sides of the VHS tapes. I think after so many recordings, you'd use a new tape, too. They also had B&W cameras and the image quality was very poor. I think they've now upgraded to higher res color cameras, at least at the newer locations.

Meh. It's called Prius Envy. They know you're doing something good with your life (and money) and it makes them look bad. I'd ignore it.

:rolleyes:Here is how I would handle it assuming you have poster board to post it on: Put the note up with your reply; 1) Any idiot knows a spoiler won't make it faster! LOL!! 2) Wow, I didn't realize you need a car to make you macho - I guess you can't tell by looking at the driver?? (just sayin..).

What ever you do, I'd suggest keeping it light hearted until you know for sure their harassment is malicious.

In part, it is an education issue, the 'useless' spoiler on a Prius is trying to make it more fuel efficient, not faster.

(Unless you did add more spoilers)

And if the OP did turn his Prius into a ricer, he deserved the note.

me personally, I would probably take offense. I would proceed to find out said offender (in my current job it seems tattle tailing gets you rewarded) and confront him. I would probably threaten to cave his face in hoping he'd take me up on it. Then I'd proceed to insult him and the shitbox that he drives (because after all if someone drove a nicer car, they wouldn't waste their time)

I wouldn't assume it's the truck guy. They are usually pretty loud and obvious. I vote for the quiet, sneaky, frowny type in the office with relationship issues.
Women are usually more careful about concelaing their handwriting.
    Keep us posted. ;)

I would post the note and email to all the employees, asking if you could find out where the proper place to park your Prius where you could not see it, so you would not offending anyone's masculinity.

I am in the "ignore it" crowd.

It takes quite a bit more than that a lame note like that to get under my skin. I'd keep talking about the plusses of the car when it is appropriate. That's enough to get the message across.
