    One of the very nice things about these - steering commands work - and they tend to be plug and play (no wiring)...

    Looking at the picture on ebay of the bits that come with the unit, it looks like there is now a wiring harness, and there is no european antenna connector.
    Will have to email and see if this is the same model they were selling last time.

    Whoops, yes. It is the same unit as last time, the picture is wrong. See post 35 on page 4 of this thread for a picture of the connectors and bits you really get.

    I would stay away from the Allibaba types (no background) - at least on EBay you get some reviews, feedback and recourse... That or find it from someone local if possible.

    Keep in mind, every time these fail, it's like $50 to return to China...

    in fact,ebay and paypal cost the total price of 14% or so ,that maybe why the device cheaper on alibaba than on ebay,but so many fake device on alibaba, that is a pity.seems the seller have 3 positivefeedback on prado,if the device is the same factory with prado he is selling,that will be great news. but if someone asked him a question?
    seems the pictures are the same,the contract person soogsun is the same person on
    ebay motonavi...
    seems same...but not sure

    I sent an email to the Daniel guy who put the post on ToyotaNation asking him a few questions. Depending on that I may be looking to purchase it. I'm hoping that if I reference the ToyotaNation post he will offer the $650 he references in that post.

    Device is not that much cheaper and with ebay/paypal you get some buyer protection.

    Cheers.

    I bought a similar SZ Soling unit from motonavi (exactly the same as the one from Jeremy, see post 35 on page 4) and installed it today.

    Some gripes are:-
    [1] There is one car 8-pin connector (8-pin) which doesn't seem to fit anywhere on this Chinese HU. I left it alone (my best guess is this is for AUX input to the OEM stock unit from the armrest console AUX socket);
    [2] There is a nagging message "Warning, do not watch to master" whenever in SD, DVD and USB modes;
    [3] In DVD mode, video does not work, can only hear audio;
    [4] In the steering wheel learning mode, the only Toyota model available in the menu is Camry - No Prius option. The steering wheel controls work partially but the bluetooth speak/handset buttons no longer function (so no voice dialing from the wheel);
    [5] I don't know how to change the background image; the instruction manual doesn't say.
    [6] RDS does not work but I'm okay with it. I didn't try TV mode because i don't need it.

    Anyone who knows how to get around these problems, please let me know. I would be dropping a message to seller.

    Thanks.

    A correction to my earlier post. The 8-pin connector is actually a 6-pin contact type.

    I managed to resolve the "Warning, do not watch to master" problem. Turns out that it is a fail-safe feature that halts any video playback while the car is in motion. I just need to ground the brake wire to bypass this limitation.

    The GPS works okay with Garmin. I actually placed the antennae magnetically on the side of the unit.

    Other than the steering wheel & background image quirks (seller has yet to come back to me), I'm pretty satisfied with the unit.

    That connector sounds like the mic connector for the built in Bluetooth mic up in the overhead console. It's not needed with an aftermarket unit because they either use their own mic or have one built-in to the head unit.

    Thanks. I thought that was for the armrest AUX input for the stock head unit. I was looking for the OEM schematics /wiring diagram to see what this connector was for.

    Do you have any problem with the steering wheel bluetooth controls?
