there are actually several different TRD bars: the xB (which most on this forum have) and one which Toyota sells as a part of Plus package.

To complicate more there were 3 different TRD bars for xB the original, the "improved" and the current (current has end links). All b/c they were breaking.

From pics of TRD Plus bar it looks like 2-iteration, but I did not X-ref part #s. If you search site I posted xB part #s a few month back.

I know for a fact that the 2010+ Prius got its own TRD bar. A guy in the Parts depatment at the dealership confirmed this from his catalogue for me last week, when I inquired about a rear sway bar part for the 2004-2009 Prius, which doesn't exist. (We resort to Corolla parts!)

Check THMotorsports.com for the best prices. They also have a 4% off coupon floating around and price match to reputable websites.

According to the online TRD parts catalog, there is no Prius specific rear sway. TRD does have a rear sway for the 08 xB

There is a Prius specific rear sway for the Prius Plus

No, I don't have the RSB. I think you're thinking the opposite effect. If you have FSB, it should reduce understeer since you're adding more grip to the front end. In fact, I've gone around a few corners where I can feel the rear starting to drift out... quite an unusual sensation with a Prius.
If you make the rear too stiff, with a super thick RSB, you'll induce understeer... too much grip and the rear doesn't rotate as nicely.

    No.

A strut tower brace (STB ) goes in the hood of the car on the top of the struts. A front sway bar goes under the car.

Springs/Coils = Wider/Performance Tires > Rear Sway bar > Front sway bar >>>>>>>>>> Strut tower brace >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Chassis stiffener aka placebo bar.

Regarding the effectiveness of strut tower bars, I found this page off the Cusco site that goes into the topic including structural and driving tests.

    [ PR ] CUSCO

Their basic philosophy is to force the suspension to do the work, not the body structure.

No. I have Tanabe underbrace but the improvements it made hardly noticeable.

If you have money for only one part get rear anti-sway bar (~30-40min install, once you loosen bolts) if have more get STB (~2hr to install)

Springs, better shocks, larger tires will improve grip but at high cost and in case of tires worse acceleration and MPG good luck

But the strut bar is on back order with no ETA, but I am willing to wait.

My rear TRD sway bar is coming in next week, I hope that I could feel a major difference.....

Oh yeah, the difference is like night and day.

I also installed the Tanabe Front Strut Bar and it also help quite a bit together.

I'm sure I'll feel the effect of both bars once I upgrade my wheels to 17".

But I highly recommend the rear TRD sway bar along with the front Tanabe Front Strut bar.

Whaaaat? Something must have been wrong with the windshield or its original install. That's very strange.
