I have it and love it. It has primo nav software and like it alot. I have Toyota's in a 2004 Avalon and hate it. There is a good thread on Rosen and vidio on YouTube that will help. I installed the latest version in Oct 2011 with camera thru a Rosen dealer and got a three year warranty. iPod and blue tooth work very well. Perfect match with dash.

I'm not trying to be a provocateur (troll), but how does this unit differ from the standard Toyota nav unit? They look very similar. I just had my nav replaced under warranty and have had 2004, 2007, 2009 and 2010 nav systems in my cars, and it hasn't seemed to change much over the years. The 2012 is different, though.

The Rosen nav can be used while driving. You do not have to pull over and stop to change route so the copilot can mess with it. The user interface is better. Has DVD player. Has cd /mp3 player. Has storage for six cd in memory.

What is the best way to check the specs to see if a unit has the latest version software? There is one on Ebay for $935 and it says "NEW iGO Primo Software." But is that the latest?

Sounds like it is the new software. I think 2009-2010 had a different company nav software.
Maybe someone out there knows for sure. I really get a kick out of mine.

You can really customize the nav system display map.

At that price go to a dealer and get a three year warranty with install.

I guess I have to get some more quotes. The one I received for a Rosen install was over $1400. It looks like most places I found online list the Rosen unit for about $1100.

If they will take cash and throw in the back up camera I would go with it. You'd get a three year warranty.

The Rosen Nav Install video makes it look easy. The only thing that could take some time is the placement of the Nav antenna. My experience with GPS tells me that the antenna does not need to be on the outside of the car. The antenna doesn't even need to "see" the satellites but it helps. I used a GPS in my van for years with the antenna velcro'd to a shelf next to a side window inside my van, and it worked great.

I installed the Rosen unit today on my 2011 Prius Two base unit. Even though I had never installed anything before, with all the information provided on this forum it looked fairly straight forward. I was amazed that it came off largely without a hitch. The only thing I couldn't find was the hook-up for the brake wire. So I checked it out without it connected and everything seemed to work fine. Radio, CD, DVD, Bluetooth, and navigation. I just put the navigation antenna/receiver on top of the HU, as some people mentioned they did that. I hope that won't adversely affect the unit.
