I just installed the usb/aux jack part # PT233-47100 as per the directions online but no USB tab appears in the head unit.
Aux jack works and I've uninstalled and reinstalled the unit again.
Still no USB tab. Any ideas?

I recently installed the USB in mine, the issue I had was the USB stick needs to be formatted correctly or it will not show up .
Fat 16 I believe. after doing that the tab showed up.
there were no directions in the box I got but it was straight fwd. it can be installed incorrectly , which I did both ways but the fix was the correct formatting of the stick.

You need to have a formatted USB device connected before tab will appear.

I tried it with an older iPod and also a new iPod touch. Still no USB tab. Of course the compatible list said the the iPod touch should work.
Dealer service dept said to bring it in that it maybe a bad head unit. Anyone have a problem with the 2010 head unit? or any other ideas?

A quick check would be to load a couple of MP3 songs on a memory stick and try that. If that does not work, you definitely have some sort of problem.

There have been a few reports of problems with the 2010 head unit but not that many.

Update: took into Ventura Toyota and they replaced the Multi-Media interface (in the head unit) Part # 861A1-0E020
Now there is a USB tab grayed out when no device is plugged in and it works as it should when an iPod is plugged in!!!
