i admit that i also do not check my tire pressures weekly like i did before but just have to ask...how could your pressures be 32 PSI and you not notice the drop in gas mileage?

i dont think they trigger until you hit the mid 20's. i had mine set at 42/40 when my 2006 Prius sprung leaks (had 3 tire repairs) and it would not go off most of the time i had it timed to air up at the low 30's which was just less than 24 hours. i pump it up to about 55 or so. took a few weeks to get around to getting the tire fixed here and there.

was hoping TPMS would go off when it sensed a large difference in pressures between tires, but alas it does not.

interesting in that i ran over "something" in my Sisters yard a few weeks ago and cut the sidewall. although it took over 15 minutes for the tire to go flat, the TPMS came on immediately. so, i guess its simply better now than before

**edit** oops forgot to mention it was the Leaf with the tire issues

2004 Prius doesn't have that feature, but the pressures were pretty uniformly low (only a few psi below manufacturer's recommendations really), so I don't think they would have triggered even with TPMS.

I got a tire pressure warning light. The tires were 3 pounds low, however the mini spare was 25# thats 35#s low. I haven't checked in the three years I've owned the car. Pumped it to 60 and the warning lite went out. Have you checked your spare? My wife's 04 Impala had 10# in the spare.
