Just got my 2011 Prius III a couple of days ago. I really like it and the mileage is unreal. Just got 62 MPG on a short trip. If there are things I should know about this car, I'd appreciate the info. I was wondering, should I wax/polish it in preparation for a Pennsylvania winter to come? If so, what do members recommendation.

I just got my new Prius IV last week. I am enjoying the pwr button. Nice thrust while climbing and merging.

Welcome aboard! I would recommend a complete read of owner's manual if you have not already.

Congrats on your Prius! I just purchased one also, albeit secondhand and an older model. ;) I'm in PA also and am still pawing through my owner's manual, so I can't specifically answer your questions, but I'm hopeful that this will be a light precipitation year for us (I think last year we only had 3 major snowfalls?) so I won't have to do too much extra maintenance. :)

For those of you in PA, if you're expecting any snow, I strongly suggest snow tires.

On Gen 2, the stock Integrities are not very good in the snow. Since LadyJ bought used, I have no idea what tires are on her car.

I can't speak to the Gen 3 tires, but I'd still advise it.

Welcome! Yes, a good coat of wax / polish before winter sets in is a good idea. I prefer Zaino products, which are bought online. I've also heard good things about Meguiars NXT polish which you can find in local stores. I've found that the Zaino polish (and supposedly the NXT) will last through the winter.

Congrats and welcome to the forum! WOW, I've been driving my new '11 for almost 4 months and still have not had that type of mileage? I usually average around 48 MPG and I have to work hard for that.

Make sure you use quality car washing supplies and for good quality waxing, check: - Zaino Store
