I'm getting ready to buy a Prius III and considering getting Katzkin leather. For those who have it, did you get it installed by the dealer when you bought the car? Anybody have recommendations (dealer or otherwise) for where to get Katzkin installed in the Maryland/DC area?
    Thanks!

I had mine installed by dealer...700 dollar add-on when buying car...installation was very good...I had no idea there were so many leather panels involved!

$700 including the leather itself? If so, that's a steal. If that's only labor, however, then that's a pretty average price.

I'm a Katzkin dealer and a new Prius owner... I am currently putting in Katzkin in my Prius and can tell you $700 is a steal if it is installed. I have only done a few installs so I am still green but it takes a long time to install these kits. I am guessing it will end up taking me 14 hours or so on the Prius.

The 700 dollar Price I paid was material and labor...what happened was, dealer made me a "final offer", and I countered with the 700 buck leather deal, figuring that was about his cost...worked for me!

Is this on a new car purchase? Yea the kit was close to $700 (dealer cost with supplies) unless he had it from a Katzkin blowout sale.... that's how I bought mine.... 2 tone leather with suedezkin inserts and perforated inserts.... Retail price would have been over $1k....

It's a job that any auto upholstery shop in your area can handle. Get bids and references from three shops. Tell them you already obtained the product.

Or go to a Katzkin installer as they can buy the kit cheaper than you can. Go to the Katzkin website and click how to buy. at the bottom of the page click the email button and they will send you contact info for any local Katzkin dealers.

Did you get the leather installed? I just purchased a Prius III also and am in the market for Katzkin leather in Maryland.

I ended up going through the dealer - they have someone they work with for the install. Actually, I didn't get it done but have an appointment to get it done - this way we were able to include it with the car purchase. They don't use Katzkin so it won't be much help to you. The price I got was $1600 for two tone seats - it sounds like you should be able to get it done cheaper for than that.
