I have the feeling Toyota dosn´t care very much about it .
They even cut the warranty from 8 to 5 years in Germany !

I don't believe this is a given, or even accurate ...
... but this is a excellent business move, as long as they plan it appropriately.

At what capacity will they consider it dead? They can say lifetime warranty, but what are they warranting? If the system monitors the cell health and then decreases usage as it ages then what? If the system allows for it to run until there is only 10% original capacity left (80% is "dead" by the standard) then does it need to be replaced? If you aren't the original owner, do you still get the warranty?

Too many questions for a flaky company to be worth anything until the actual wording of the warranty is released. Agreed that it is a good idea, but Prius is doing just fine without the warranty.

Toyota wants to sell cars! Even tho the battery will probably last many more years and miles, that doubt as you approach the end of the warranty will likely push you into trading her in on a new one!

Let's see if they actually sell, then the competition can only benefit us.

    1) Very few people die on any one day, yes, but over enough time every single one of us dies. Same with batteries.

    2) If it were my site and I made the rules (It isn't and I don't) you would be banned for 6 months for spamming every single forum.
