Don't need therapist. They just get paid $$ to listen to problems. Just starting busting cardio WL / RT moves in class, sweat, get in shape and the head will clear out ;)

    Now, a lawyer, that's a different story .....

It might also be the color of the car you are driving. When I was driving a grey colored pickup, I was getting cut off so much more than in any other car color.

And whether anybody knows it or not, the drivers in Orange County drive slightly different than those in Los Angeles County. I haven't quite figured out the difference, but I think the LA driver is more aggressive, including driving faster.

That's the very reason I got a Blizzard Pearl. White is the least likely color car to get hit by another car, by 800%, according to BMW research. Yellow is the next safest.

That being said, if you lived in MD and did that, people would pass you on the left AND the RIGHT, to cut you off that way. You can always tell when you enter MD because the drivers start passing on the right. It's like magic. And if you don't absolutely tailgate the car in front of you, someone will want to get in there... then get right back out. There can't be that many small wieners in the world.

The upshot is, that unless a cop sees the infraction, there is no point in you doing anything about it. My suggestion would be to drive just a little bit slower, since then it would be that much harder for someone swerving in to clip your front bumper. Most of them are probably coming in from the fast lanes to exit, and they don't want to go behind you if they can cut one out of the herd before they exit. If someone flips me off, I give them a papal blessing (sign of the cross). You should see their egos shiver.

Let them go, let it go. I take solace in the fact that if there is a speed trap, they will get it first and I can slow down to avoid a ticket while they are getting pulled over. I also get a little drafting action while they are just in front of me.

I thought I was getting cut-off more than before and otherwise dissed when mine was new, but as time passed it happened less and less. Funny thing :_>

The Prius driver with the NRA sticker on his trunk seems to think it helps him.
Maybe I'd get one, but it'd have to stand for National Restaurant Association. LOL

In my area, NRA stickers will merely incite road rage from certain drivers who disagree with, or more likely have never read, our state Constitution. And invite car prowlers who have already have too many guns borrowed from government employees. So my stickers are hidden in the glove box, to be taped up if I experience problems from certain other drivers in other territories.

When I bought our Prius, I thought people were tail-gating me because they like my car and wanted a closer look. After I removed the "I Love Obama" bumper sticker people seemed more anti-social and stayed off my bumper.

In reference to the topic of this thread "Re: Should I sell my Prius? I need psychological assistance please"; since ObamaCare took away my medication, I see things more clearly now.

My 2 cents, when I got mine, I changed my driving style to more conservative and I think that got me into more trouble. Drive it like you drove your previous car. When I did that, half my problems went away and I did not let them mess with me.

It wil cost ya maybe 1 or2 mpg, maybe, but you wil have more fun and not be a victim.

Enjoy the ride and the great mileage.

This. Many Prius drivers are preoccupied with maintaining a certain mpg figure. You simply can't do this on SoCal freeways without making yourself a target. Otherwise, you have little choice but to move to one of the states where people actually drive at or near the speed limit.

I did an experiment while driving from Santa Monica to south Orange County on the 405. Saturday morning, drove my wife's Subaru in the 2nd land from the right shoulder at 65 mph. It scared the hell out of me, I was constantly passed on the right and left, cut off and I felt like a target in a shooting gallery. Doesn't matter what car you drive, you can't drive that speed on light traffic freeways in Southern California, you take your life in your hands. So, I gave up, sped up and kept up with the flow in the fast lane, much faster, but much safer.
Conclusion: don't blame the car, it's the freeway culture in Southern Cal., so drive in a safe manner, go with the flow and screw the mileage, remember it will still be good mileage in a Prius.

There is always a bigger vehicle than yours (well almost always).

I was passing a person today, I was going a little over 60 (speed limit 55) and no one remotely near me.. I got just about past and a semi 18 wheeler came up on my tail and though I was tempted to slow down (you think you need help... ) I resisted and got over (I was now doing 64) the 18 wheeler came up and looked down and threw both hands in the air (yes both...) and then picked up speed. There was another lane but trucks are restricted from going in left lane (though mind you speed limit was 55)... I try to keep in within 5 of speed limit...

I move to the right whenever possible, take a deep breath and relax. I just don't think anything else is worth the stress. I've turned 60. I have perspective. Not only that, but if you don't drive as fast as possible, you get much better mileage. I love the prius. Unfortunately, I never get to drive it, as it is my husband's car. I'm on here prowling for a good deal on a Prius, so OP should sell to ME!

You make a lot of assumptions. I am not one of those drivers.

    ****SOLD PRIUS*********
I'll keep the Prius for my solo drives, I refuse to drive it with my family with me! I don't think you'll like my Prius. It has cosmetic scratches when my roofing shingles hit my car during the Dec 1 windstorms. :)

So I'm stuck with it! Awesome car by the way!!!

If the price delta in cars (GL450 versus G3) and the fuel increase solves all of your problems, then I'd say you're in good shape. Probably cheaper treatment for your SOCAL induced driving anxiety than a bunch of touchy-feely sessions with some counselor.
I honestly hope that it works out that way for you! ;)

The GL is a good vehicle, and I personally think that it's a 'safer' vehicle although there is a higher probability of encountering a vehicle roll-over with this type.
Personally?? I like having 2,000 additional pounds of metal, plastic and glass around me. The additional ground clearance will help some too in a car-versus-SUV accident. The G3 is a pretty safe vehicle for what it is, but since I drive trucks, cars, and motorcycles...I'm hip to the law of gross tonnage with respect to the presumption of safety.
Opinions vary wildly of course, and while I'm suuuuure that there's no "overt" political or social-economic "twist" in vehicle safety ratings...like they say in the MSF courses, YOU have to ride YOUR ride.

    Good Luck!
Sorry the G3 didn't work out for you!

Ouch! MSRP starting at $62.5K and EPA ratings of 13 city/18 highway/15 combined on required premium... ok.... To each his own.

If I were to want to blow that kind of dough (although I'm not totally sure they're totally comparable in interior volume), I'd go for a HiHy which is EPA rated 28/28/28 (hate driving non-hybrids in stop and go or city traffic). Or, I'd go for a minivan. '12 Sienna V6 at 21 mpg combined or '12 Odyssey at 22 mpg combiened is a huge improvement over 15 mpg, if you do a proper comparison by gallonage (http://priuschat.com/forums/other-c...eage-no-its-your-gallonage-really-counts.html). All of these vehicles I listed take regular and are cheaper than a GL450...
