I bought the Prius a couple of months ago and still love to drive it. The main reason I decided to purchase the vehicle was to avoid expensive gasoline prices.

On my first test drive I completely annoyed my Toyota salesman by pretending to be on a Star Trek spaceship. I couldn't help the similarities because when the engine shuts off and we began to "float" down the street I thought we were going to fly away. Im still getting accustomed to driving without an engine noise. One last note: I also drive my Prius like a spaceship, at warp speeds. My Prius has reached 138 mph on a closed course so if someone says the pruis is a slow car, don't believe them. Ok bye everyone. Beam me up Scotty...

    Show us video ....

3rd Gen Prius does not reach 138 MPH indicated or actual. Maybe 110 give or take a couple.

Maybe he's a gear head and figured out how to disable the speed limiter?

The Gen III Prius (2010+) is computer speed limited to 112-113 mph to protect MG2 from overspeed. If he were to disable the speed limit and made it to 138 mph he would be replacing the transaxle shortly afterwards.

Had mine up to 100 the other day. So quiet and stable it felt like 55.
