smk pulled $2300 off sticker. Lucky is right. Dianne is quoting about $1k off sticker for Three and I'd think that is much more 'normal' for this time of year on new model. Don't be surprised if some places quote less than $1k off sticker.

Curious, did they push hard to get you to buy a pre-paid maintenance plan or extended protection (warranty)? The F&I 's usually create an air that they'd be quite bummed if you don't buy something like that.

I ran down to service during our deal, added up cost of each service after the 2 free years. It's actually the same as their price, but you save on tax and increased service costs in future. 'Course, it's all negotiable and cancellable if don't want it.

btw, here's me at pick up time. 'twas a long day, had a trade.

Actually I was surprised they didn't push me HARD to buy their programs or the Toyota warranty. They even gave me the Toyota's special apr that Toyota was giving on the 2011s. It was too good to be true. I was kind of waiting for them to pull some dirty trick on me but they didn't. I guess they had to meet month end quota or something.

    Nice color selection BTW :)

yes, thanks. Silver works awfully well. Before buying first new car 4 years ago and having a choice on color, I used to poo-poo Silver, didn't like, wanted a real color like dark blue, green, etc.. The 09 was dark blue and was kinda cool, but shows the minor scratches more. Other thing didn't like is stick hand on it in hot sun, and it's hot. White, silver, light colors ... stay much cooler in sun.

Looks like you got the Dark Gray interior. Keep us posted on how you like the nav and display.

Love the new tail lights, but I CANNOT STAND daytime running lights. I will have to get them disabled.

Congrats, skm009, and best of luck with the Prius! Love the photos. They are feeding my new-car lust. You made a decision very quickly, apparently; I wish I could be that decisive!

Audio is ok for me. The nav screen for now seems too small for me. Don't care much about Entune. Not thrilled about the nav change in 2012 but I guess I need some time to get used to it.

Yeah, it sucks just a little that JBL is now only in Four and up. That would actually be a hot setup with the power seats. I was always surprised before that Prius had better audio down into Three. It was in package 3 back in 2008 also. Most other models, upgraded audio is in higher trims, so I guess Prius is now more inline.

Having the nav built in is nice. When needed, I gotta borrow and plug in. when needing nav more, I'll put a mount on dash.

The nav pic I took yesterday showed borders around edge, but I'll bet there's a way to get the nav full screen, hopefully. It has voice instructions anyway.

Don't know what Prius you had before, but would be interesting to hear your comparisons. I'll skip my comparo to 2nd gen unless someone wants an earful :)

I know why you are asking :)
No they did not screw me on the trade-in, because I did not have a trade-in :)

    Hi all
Have been lurking here for over a year soaking in all the information. Finally ready to buy especially after reading about this deal in Ohio.
So I told my local Toyota dealer about it and they said it was to good to be true on a new 2012. They said there must have been something else that would make the out the door price higher.
Whats going on here? Ready to buy now.

    Thanks
    ~Jim

    Hey Jim,

Check your email and you should have all the info you need to arm yourself. I did not have a trade-in or any add-ons to make the OTD price higher. The only other things I paid were 6.25% tax + 33.50 license/registration + 250 doc fee(standard in my area). But it could be that my dealer was desperate to sell the car to make up some quota or something.

Prices seem to be low for a new model year with all the '11s still unsold. The new Prius C in a few months might be keeping some buyers on the fence if they do not need the extra space? Less then $20K is also a consideration?

You got a great deal. Best quote in IL for a '12 III w/mats is $24,800 plus tax, title and plates for a car that is due in 2 weeks.

    Sent you a PM.
