"Toyota Black Box Lack Crucial Info"

This will be a good thing if the edr's address the problems mentioned in the video.

They said they will have readers, they have not said that the edr will comply with the mandate. The video was about toyotas edr not recording braking data. They said that there was a blank line because some models record it some do not. I will be happy is they put production(Not test) software in the the readers, and if all 2011 actually implement edr as per the mandated standard. If I have missed a toyota announcement of this, I would like to stand correctly.

I guess from your statement GM, Ford, and Chrysler are not manufacturers since they have done this.

 

Toyota Black Box Location Found!

Has anybody figured out where exactly these black box event data recorders are located in the car? I wouldn't mind taking a look at mine, maybe even soup it up a bit.

The "black box" is just log memory inside the ECUs. You can't modify them without proprietary tools.
