I've been meaning to do a video "review" of this new Ottonavi unit, it's just every nice day happens to be a work day, and every off day is freezing, so the last thing I want to do is sit out in the car recording something.

Still, I think I'm going to do it, because there are a few UI tweaks that could be done fairly easily to make the iPod interface far more easier and safer to use on the unit, and I'd like to just illustrate them.

this will work with jbl its built in to support it.
when removing the radio you need to turn the stock radio to 75% volume then remove radio and install our unit so the factory Jbl amp can be set into sink mode prior to installing hope this helps have a nice day.
This is the Email they sent me when I asked about the Jbl and xm guess you can't use xm with it. Haven't decieded what I want to go with is the one on ottonavi site the same as the one on newegg.com cheaper there say's sold by ottonavi not the same model number on it there G2

Newegg.com - 11-12 TOYOTA PRIUS IN DASH DOUBLE DIN 7 INCH TOUCH SCREEN GPS NAVIGATION MP3 MULTIMEDIA RADIO G2 MODEL

Looks the same to me. But at a better price.
Ottonavi changed their web site recently; this unit used to be called G2.
There was also a G1 before.
Now they only sell the G2 but for some reason they removed the G2 in the title.

I just got back from a road trip with the Prius. The other people in the car stated several times how good the Stereo sounded. Plus the Nav got us out of a couple of jams.

I have to say now that I've upgraded to V9.02 and taken out the Scosche adapter that the volume balance between the radio and the IPOD/DVD is not as bad as it once was. When I swapped to the Radio it was just slightly louder, not a lot. Great unit!!!!

Who should I email to get the files to upgrade to V9.02? I guess I need both the actual firmware file and some kind of upgrade utility .exe?

Just ask Ottonavi. Contact us | OttoNavi
    They are usually pretty quick.
They should send you 4 files (instructions, firmware and two .exe files)

    Worked for me and Glenn.
    Was there any error messages?
What are the exact names of the files you put on the SD card?

Yes, we only have one kind of Prius unit in stock right now and that’s the G2 model. You can buy it from either places

Looks the same as the one I have; must be a G2. Newegg also.
The *older* model had a very different UI.

Sorry, no, the weather seems to be horrible and cold on my days off and nice on my days at work. My want to sit out in the cold doing a video has been pretty low.

They're mainly UI issues in the iPod interface that I have some ideas for (nothing that involves new graphics or anything or even changes what needs to be queried from the iPod), and a few things about the general radio. Obviously, these are tweaks that would have to be done at the code level of the actual iPod interface app and front-end, so it's not really something that could be done by someone just mucking around in the WindowsCE install. I'll have some time Sunday, so if the weather cooperates I'll make a point to get to it.

    OK thanks.
I was wondering if may be you had find a way of changing the UI a bit.

I will dig into it and see what I can find...

I am really interested in this unit. Can you folks tell me if the factory XM works with this unit?

Nope. Not this one. But it's a fine unit.
