F8L is that 16" or 17"s u have on ur gen II? How much do they weigh per wheel?

17s. They weigh 15-16lbs each. Even shod with LRR tires they drop my mpg by 6 or more depending on how much hypermiling I do. They improve looks and handling like mad though. Unfortunately the mpg bugs me so much that I swap back to the 15s quite often. I just swapped back to the 15s last week and already had a 56mpg tank vs. the low. 40s I was at with the 17s.

I have not tried them but I guarantee a mpg drop when swapping from 15s to the 16s due to basic physics. The mpg drop will likely be much smaller than upsizing to 17s but physics tells us that it requires more energy to turn the heavier and wider 16s. If you are not observing a difference it is likely due to a difference in your tires and or your driving conditions. It usually takes awhile before people know what to look for when ruling out variables that affect mpg. What tires did you used to have and what tires are on the 16" wheels? What was/is the condition of the tires? Can you describe your testing methods or is this a casual observation?

Fortunately you may not suffer the same drop those of us with 17s suffer. Your car looks good and still gets good mpg.

I have the oem 16" wheel without the hubcapa nd the oem tires that comes with it as well turanza el 400 02 size would be 195/55/16. I also use the glide and reg braking techniique that I used with the 15" but then again I only commute around 16 miles a day home to work so I think that is one factor I cant get good mileage.. yes?

Yup yup. I'm seriously considering painting them white. Blue on white looks pretty good in my opinion.

I'm considering a set of these Motegi 17x7 wheels for my 2012 v Three and was looking for a bit of feedback, if anyone has any experience with this brand I'd love to hear about it.

Opinions on tire size is appreciated as well. Click view on vehicle to have a look...thanks gang.

Bleh, really don't care for gold rims. Now I'm considering going with some Volk TE37's in white, most likely 18s.
