Warning: Do not change any settings in these menus that you don't understand. These menus are for technicians that have the service manual to guide them (and hopefully some experience).

Press and hold Setup button and set headlight to AUTO, Off, On (repeat Off, On) until the hidden menu shows up on the nav screen. See the video at bottom.

To get to the backup camera functions while in the hidden main menu, press Function Check, press Camera Settings, press (and hold?) Back Camera Settings, then ONLY press NEXT to go through various things that you can adjust related to the backup cam. Warning: If you change any of these settings you could conceivably make the Park Assist run into things (or worse?). Now you can drive with the back camera showing what you just passed, and maybe a view of your blind spot. The first view “back camera position setting†is a good view with minimal icons and a banner blocking part of your view. Note that the Nav is now in diagnostic mode and you can’t use it until you press and hold Settings to reboot the Nav system.

After you enter Camera Settings from the main hidden menu, you may or may not have to touch and hold the “back camera settings†button. I think it depends on if the vehicle is in full Ready Mode.

Somebody tell me how this works in a Prius V without Adv. Tech Package (ATP) and I will edit it in here and acknowledge your input.

Good find! Too bad there is no navigation input override option to use when in motion. Thanks for sharing.

Good to know you can adjust the camera in case you get bumped from behind and the camera goes out of alignment.

I would love to be able to have the camera on all the time and scanning for police cruisers :)

Re: Pruis v 5 w/ ATP Hidden menu (can turn on backup camera in D)

It's the same as the Gen III Prius 5 with ATP. It's part of the automatic parking feature. I don't think it works with none ATP Prius v. I modded mine to work with the turn signal. http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...tions/92734-how-about-blind-spot-monitor.html I think it will work with the v as well. The only complaint I have is that once you've accessed the rear camera via hidden menu, the stereo system is inoperable. Also there's a black bar on the top of the screen that blocks the view. With hardware hack, the nav and the stereo still work. You can add a switch to turn on the rear camera. http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...enable-rear-camera-display-while-driving.html post# 85

Thanks for sharing your awesome installation.

If I ever get to see the back of my Nav system I'll be thinking of implementing your invention.

I have checked Canadian Version and trying to access diagnostic mode as you described it shows different screen, I can not access the camera settings.
Pressing the button Camera has no effect.
    (picture attached)

I think Canadian Version have different software.

Interesting, not surprisingly, the UI and method to access it are very similar to that of the hidden menus on my 2nd gen Prius.

@syscon; Try to press and hold the camera button, and make sure the vehicle is in full ready mode. Let me/us know if it makes a difference.

Re: Pruis v 5 w/ ATP Hidden menu (can turn on backup camera in D)

I think Canadian Version have slightly different button on the right: Application - Setup - Car - (phone picture)

Pressing Care and turning the lights ON/OFF x3 shows "Service Menu" but there is no access to Camera Setting or any button on the screen that allow access to camera settings.
I have Canadian Version Luxury Package.

Re: Pruis v 5 w/ ATP Hidden menu (can turn on backup camera in D)

No, it made no difference. If Prius V is in "Ready" mode pressing the camera button even for 15sec. makes no difference.
Unless there is a difference sequence button that need to be press to access camera setting.

The Canadian Luxury mode have navigation but the camera does not show alignment "Lines" on the backup camera. I was trying to see if I can enable them somehow. I'm sure this is a software feature either hidden somewhere or not installed.

The "Technology package" has those alignment "Lines" lines on the backup camera but not Luxury one.

Thanks for the great write-up. I'm still learning all the features that Toyota reserved for the Premium HDD Navigation. I still think that Toyota USA is playing dirty/greedy by sticking all the neat gadgets in the Adv. Tech. Package and charging over $5000. If I didn't love all the tech toys and have the cash I would have investigated importing from Canada.

If Toyota had provided a list of the differences between the standard audio/nav system on the 5 versus what you get with the Advanced Tech Package, I might have considered springing for the extra $5K. As it was, the only difference I saw was a 6.1 inch vs 7 inch screen which, to me, was no difference at all.

I have the 2012 Solar, non-advanced nav package and the screen looks similar to syscon's. Any idea what the SPCheck setting is? I don't remember if mine was On or Off and I want to make sure I set it back to the default.

Re: Pruis v 5 w/ ATP Hidden menu (can turn on backup camera in D)

I got up the courage and discovered myself that it stands for "Speaker Check". The button is enabled when the radio or other audio source is playing. Hit it and the audio cycles through the speakers individually so you can check that they're all good I suppose. I still couldn't get the Camera button to be enabled. I tried powering on the car, going into reverse and then the service menu, but no matter what the button is disabled :(

Minor Note to Pacohaas - This is the Prius v Wagon, not the Prius standard. :) I would say some things might not be like your car.

Camera can only be activated in the diagnostic menu if the vehicle has parking assist. I have not heard of any 2012 HB Five with ATP activating the rear camera via diagnostic menu.

The Display Audio System will have a different setup than the Premium HDD Nav (which is made by Denso).
