I made a mistake put on Michelin Harmony tires at 25k miles on my 2008 and found about a 4-5 mpg dip. I have about 40k more left on my Michelin's rated mileage tire and wish I had the Bridgestone Ecopia 422's to get back up to 50+. What effect have anyone found or read to expect with LRR tires vs normal high quality normal tires? I run about 42 psi as always.

About 4 to 5 mpg is a typical drop for non-LRR tires.

Have you broken the tires in yet? All tires require a break in period before they will give you max performance and mpg increases throughout their lifetime as tread wears down.

I don't know about the Harmony's . . . but the Hydroedge? Wow! 100K miles and they still had a ton of wear. But like f8L said, there was about a 3,000 mile break in before my mpg's went way back up.

Yeah, I didn't make that clear.....have 20k on them, thus 40k left on the 60k rated tires. Sorry not including that. Ok, 4-5 drop.....appreciate the supporting info.
