Prius Plug in Demo video

    I don't know if this video has been posted on this site. However, I found it to be very informative and I think a lot of you might like to see it. I was really happy to see a few things that will be available on the 2012 Prius.
    ** I noticed that the nav screen can display the navigation map and fuel consumption data at the same time.

    This video is of the Advanced Trim model. One thing I learned from this video is that the DVD player will play a DVD movie on the display as long as the vehicle is not in motion.

    They talked about a higher resolution dash display (not the MFD). I wonder if that is on both the standard and the advanced models...

    Did you notice in PRPrius's Video 1/2 above, in the end the driver forgot to unplug the PIP?

    Do I now need to get a Smart Phone to get all the features of the videos? I like my cheap $100/year Tracfone !!!

    The smartphone features are available only to the PiP Advanced model. So if you plan on getting a PiP Advanced then the answer to your question is Yes.

    The main two smartphone features will be the charge management (being able to control when your car charges, when it stops and getting charge status) and remote climate control from a distance (PiP Base will have remote a/c on the key fob).

    You will need a phone with Bluetooth to make hands free calls. You will need a phone with DATA to connect Entune features to the Internet.

    This page Entune has more detail. The Premium HDD version is in the Advanced. The Display Audio with Nav and Entune is in the standard PiP.
