Which Prius v 5 should I buy?

Ordered a v 5 back on Dec. 23rd. because no one within 500 miles had the color combination we wanted. Now my dealer found one that has been sitting on a lot in AZ for the last 2 months. They are having it shipped to Utah. They said I have first choice to buy this one or wait for my order which could be another 30 days.

Here is the question. The car from AZ was built back in Nov.
Should I buy the Nov. car or wait for my order with a newer build date? Have there been any improvements or TSB's on the Prius v since it was produced? Always a little leery of a first model year.

Thanks for any input on this subject.

I would say it depends on how particular you might be. The other drawback with the one that is in Arizona that has been sitting on the lot for 2 months is whether or not someone has been test driving it a bit. I know the Prius v 5 I got, where I settled for it over just waiting, I found 3 bluetooth devices paired to it already (One of them being my co-worker's phone. :) ) Mine only had about 122 miles on it and the dealer took good care of it.

I have had no problems with mine, but if you just want it literally 'yours' with barely anyone messing with it, the option would be to wait for yours. I would say it really depends on your disposition. The only other thing I know mentioned was the plans for all new 2012 models to have a noise maker installed so speeds under 20-30 mph, the car will make sort of a 'saucer' like sound to help pedestrians know your car is coming nearby, especially if you are driving with the EV mode or not with the engine going so people can actually know you are there versus blindly not noticing it.

Keiichi, thanks for the input. I know the car has 23 miles on it and has been sitting in the show room more than it has outside. Also, do all Prius V's have the noise maker?

Not all of them. According to the announcement, it was for future 2012 Models, so ones that have been sitting around for a while won't have the noise maker.

Looking around, it looks like this announcement was made back in September of last year, so technically, it should be on that one as well, but again, depends. You can always ask them and see if they know about it or not.

The prius v (wagon) is a 2012 model vehicle. So I believe all US Prius v's have the noise maker. If you read up on the noise maker threads I think that you will find that it is not that big of a deal. I have yet to see anybody look up when I'm driving in parking lots. But then it's cold here in central NY and people don't look up for much in the winter.
